Facilities Management Apprenticeship Programme

Global Operations / UK Operations – Macclesfield Infrastructure Development (FM)

  • Improve Facilities Management contract management quality: Help develop and roll out strong service contracts, fixing gaps that have made it hard to manage suppliers effectively. This will support proactive, reliable, and optimized contract management.
  • Hold Facilities Management suppliers accountable: Support monitoring supplier performance against agreed service standards, making sure delivery meets the needs and expectations of our internal teams.
  • Support critical work for patients: Help ensure services run smoothly across R&D, Manufacturing, Testing, and Product Release—so the right medicines reach patients safely and on time.
  • Use AI and smart tech to boost efficiency: Spot practical ways to bring AI and new technology into our Facilities Management (FM) team. You’ll help improve how we manage suppliers, enhance oversight, and streamline day-to-day FM operations—driving real productivity gains.

Training and Development

AstraZeneca will sponsor you through your Facilities Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship at AstraZeneca Macclesfield Campus, with remote college learning from Capital City College. 

The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time university/college learning (on average 1 day/week). This will give you the opportunity to gain an Facilities Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship qualification, with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

Skills and Capabilities

We would be looking for the following attributes from our successful applicants:

  • Able to act independently but also to work and contribute in a team environment
  • Good organisational skills with an excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work on multiple tasks and understanding how to prioritise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving

Entry Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9 to 4 including English and Maths 

  • To have achieved or predicted to achieve a minimum of 1 A level (32 UCAS points or equivalent at grade C)

At AstraZeneca, we aim to set you up for success and we recognise the challenges that starting a new job can bring. We therefore offer a relocation package to help with the costs and process of moving for candidates who currently live more than 60 minutes from the site location for this Apprenticeship.
