What’s your name, job title and how long have you worked here?
Josi Kauffman - Supply Planning Manager and I have worked at AstraZeneca for 15 years.
What do you like most about your job?
As a member of supply chain, we get to interact with both the production site as well as our market colleagues. I enjoy being able to lead a team of planning professionals who’s job can impact both the cost saving manufacturing site as well as helping to reduce the lead time to get our life saving medicines to patients.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
When I am not attending my kids sports games, our family loves to go camping and bike riding. I also have a garden that keeps me busy in the summer and have a close group of friends that run together each week.
Do you have a family and pets?
I have three children, a 10-year-old daughter, a 7-year-old daughter, and a 4-year-old son. Because we love to be outside, we also have a lot of pets to keep us busy. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a rabbit, a horse, and 12 chickens.
What’s your work/life balance experience been at AZ?
Work/life balance can often be difficult when raising a family especially when they are active in sports and school activities. I have been thankful to have leaders who are supportive of making sure both home and work are equal priorities. My family is important to me, and I want to be there for my children when they need me. AZ has allowed me to continue to keep that as a priority with flexibility in my previous and current role.
How do you network with other women both inside and outside of AZ?
I am currently leading the Network of Women here at the Mt. Vernon site. This group has helped several women at the site better get to know each other as well as enjoy both professional learning opportunities and also social networking. We try and have at least 1 event a quarter to have a chance to focus on service, professional development, and social networking.
What would you like other women to know about joining AZ as a new employee?
