DevOps Tech Lead (Serverless Platform & Engineering Enablement)
Introduction to Role
Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming cloud-native development? As a DevOps Tech Lead, you'll be at the forefront of designing and evolving serverless platform capabilities. This strategic role combines technical expertise with leadership to drive scalable, secure, and efficient development across our enterprise.
Operating with a60/40 split between strategic leadership and hands-on execution, you'll focus on platform engineering, developer enablement, and architectural guidance. Are you up for the challenge?
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, evolution, and governance of enterprise serverless templates using AWS and Terraform
- Define and develop reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules aligned with serverless architecture and enterprise security standards
- Drive platform adoption through technical talks, workshops, and structured onboarding initiatives
- Lead adoption campaigns to promote standardized serverless solutions across Business Technology Groups (BTGs)
- Partner with stakeholders to design scalable architectures, provide technical advisory, and size implementations
- Act as a technical authority for serverless and cloud-native architectures, guiding complex engineering decisions
- Identify and implement automation strategies to eliminate Business As Usual (BAU) tasks and improve operational efficiency
- Provide application support for Jira, Confluence, SonarQube, Jenkins, GitHub, MFALM, Artifactory, Matomo, Hashicorp Vault
- Explore and deliver AI-driven proofs of concept (PoCs) leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot to improve developer productivity
- Mentor engineers across global teams, elevating technical capabilities and best practices
- Promote secure-by-design principles, including integration with enterprise secrets management platforms
- Align platform solutions with CI/CD standards using GitHub and GitHub Actions
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with AWS serverless architectures (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SES, DynamoDB, Aurora, event-driven design)
- Advanced expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Unit Testing for IaC with Golang and Python
- Proven experience designing scalable, secure cloud-native platforms
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, particularly GitHub and GitHub Actions
- Experience with platform engineering and reusable infrastructure patterns
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence technical decisions
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives across teams
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and innovation practices
