We are looking a Corporate Giving Services Operations Service Manager.  As Corporate Giving Services Operations Service Manager (Grant and Contributions Operations) you will be a member of the Corporate Giving Services Management team within the GBS – Compliance Legal & Contracting Operations (CLCO) business unit, and will lead operational activities, accountabilities and processes related to the Corporate Giving (medical education grants, sponsorships, contributions and donations) Center of Excellence.

As the Corporate Giving Services Operations Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing the regional service team and operating model, overseeing operations and process, and managing related financial and human resources. The role is also responsible and accountable for development of the end-to-end governance and processes that will be delivered by specialists. You will need to ensure that the department’s operations are fully compliant with all AZ policies, /guidelines, internal/external disclosure requirements, as well as consistency with expectations and standards. 

This role will be part of the Corporate Giving Services Management team and report directly to the Head of Corporate Giving Services.  The successful candidate will be passionate about connecting with our key business stakeholders across the organisation while delivering effective and efficient services to our Corporate Giving Services partners.  In general, the successful candidate will

Typical Accountabilities

The role holder will be accountable for:

  • Directs efforts of specialists within the Corporate Giving Services team who manage the processing and monitoring requirements to ensure function is fully operational and compliant.
  • Ensures creation and execution of services/operational plan for Corporate Giving Services.
  • Oversees the Corporate Giving Services Governance Model ensuring strong governance and monitoring of activities is in place.
  • Oversees the operations of back office and middle office services provided across the organization.
  • Oversees delivery of advice based on AZ policy/practices and on evolving legislation, regulations and guidance that potentially impact staff or processes relevant to the implementation of effective and fully compliant medical education grants, sponsorships, donations and contributions.
  • Responsible for customer relationship management, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures policies & review processes reflect most current appropriate business and compliance practices and that team members/partners are trained. Ensures consistency and compliance in review process, policy interpretation, decision rationale, implementation and activity reconciliation.
  • Defines and monitors metrics (KPIs, SLAs, etc.) for performance of function.
  • Ensures appropriate tracking and reporting mechanisms are in place to meet all company- dictated, government reporting requirements.
  • Ensures adequate documentation is maintained to meet corporate standards of compliant record keeping.
  • Provides leadership to the team and fosters team performance. Ensures appropriate staffing of function.
  • Manages the performance assessment and career development of all direct reports and their staff.
  • Has input into the function’s operational budget.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated management experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in Medical Education grants, sponsorships, donations, contributions or related business area
  • Collaborative management style, responsive, considerate, flexible, assertive and personable
  • Experience in developing and mentoring people
  • Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to lead teams and cross functional groups to achieve team objectives
  • Program and project management experience
  • Budget management experience
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of government requirements and policy/guideline adherence

Desirable

  • Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior experience in scientific or regulatory areas such as Medical Education, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development & Regulatory Affairs.
  • Knowledge of external practice, regulations and guidelines
  • Extensive knowledge of industry systems and structure
  • Experience with internal/external audit

Preferable industry: Pharmaceutical

OVERALL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6+ years of overall experience related to global people management experience, Service center responsibilities (SLA, KPI, Compliance, etc.)
