Associate Application Engineer - OneLab

Accountabilities:
- Application Support: Provide 2nd-line support for OneLab and lab applications, triaging issues, executing small enhancements, and ensuring compliance with ITIL standards and change control procedures.
- Troubleshooting & Stability: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, leverage GenAI tools to accelerate problem-solving, and take end-to-end ownership through resolution or escalation.
- Upgrades & Maintenance: Assist with application upgrades (major/minor versions, hot fixes), parser migrations, and pipeline integration troubleshooting to maintain smooth data flow.
- Automation & Reliability: Contribute to RPA, scripting, and workflow automation to reduce manual tasks; support backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with users, infrastructure/middleware teams, and 3rd-party vendors; communicate insights and recommendations clearly and proactively.
- Knowledge & Enablement: Document solutions, share best practices, and help build AI-assisted training materials and reusable knowledge assets.
- Operational Excellence: Work within DevOps and Agile frameworks, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and explore emerging GenAI technologies to enhance service delivery.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in IT/Application Support, ideally in pharmaceutical or laboratory environments.
- Hands-on experience with Biovia OneLab or other lab-based applications (exposure and willingness to learn are welcome).
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and change control.
- Experience with or strong interest in Generative AI tools for troubleshooting and optimization.
- Basic proficiency in automation (e.g., RPA, scripting, workflow automation).
- Familiarity with application upgrades, bug fixes, and small enhancements.
- Exposure to pipeline integrations and parser migrations is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility to work with different cultures and time zones; strong collaboration in global, cross-functional teams.
- Growth mindset: willingness to learn, proactive, and easy to work with.
- Understanding of DevOps and Agile principles; eagerness to deepen skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience in mentoring or knowledge sharing.
- Background in AI-powered analytics for proactive issue detection.
- Experience with vendor coordination and multi-stakeholder environments.
