Head, Global/US Insights, Analytics and Forecasting
AstraZeneca is a global, science‑led biopharmaceutical company committed to pushing the boundaries of science to deliver life‑changing medicines. We are seeking a seasoned, transformational leader to serve as the Global & US Head of Insights, Analytics & Forecasting.
In this role, you will shape how AstraZeneca makes high‑stakes investment decisions across an evolving portfolio. With a rare dual remit spanning Global and US, you will integrate inputs from US operations, global functions, and regional/marketing company teams into a unified, authoritative single source of truth. As a trusted partner to senior executives, you will anticipate needs, orchestrate integrated insights, analytics, and forecasting, and turn complexity into clarity that guides therapy‑area strategies and enterprise‑wide decisions. Leading from the front, you will build future‑ready capabilities, inspire high‑performing teams, and drive the commercial transformation that will define AZ’s competitive edge over the next decade.
Accountabilities:
- Lead Global and US insights, analytics, and forecasting to inform long‑, mid‑, and near‑term plans, early investment choices, lifecycle strategy, and quarterly reviews.
- Translate complex analytics into clear strategic options and trade‑offs for senior stakeholders.
- Oversee industry‑leading insight programs that combine primary research, secondary data, and competitive intelligence to surface unmet needs and patient‑journey drivers.
- Ensure all research meets compliance and ethical standards and generates actionable findings for portfolio and brand decisions.
- Own transparent, patient‑based revenue models that guide portfolio and investment decisions and align with clinical and commercial strategies.
- Drive innovation (predictive modeling and automated insight extraction) and embed these capabilities into decision making.
- Integrate Global strategy, US priorities, and Regional market dynamics into a cohesive view; create feedback loops so each informs the other and resolve tensions when they arise.
- Run an agile operating model with clear prioritization and resource allocation; manage budgets and vendor partners, deciding when to build in‑house vs. outsource.
- Inspire, develop, and retain a geographically dispersed team; foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- BSc/BA degree in business or related discipline
- 8+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries including 5+ years in commercial, market access or insights, analytics or forecasting with global and US
- Extensive People management experience
- Experience building and optimizing teams and commercial capabilities
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD)
- Proven success leading large, geographically dispersed teams (40+ direct and indirect reports) through transformation and growth
- Experience in therapy areas aligned with AstraZeneca’s Biopharmaceutical division
