The purpose of the GBS Data Quality Team is to verify that the master, reference, and transactional data utilized within AZ Finance systems is suitable for its intended use. The Senior Financial Data Quality Analyst is tasked with identifying, investigating, and resolving data issues that impact Finance processes, including reporting, month-end close, and historical data.

We seek a candidate with a strong grasp of corporate finance, preferably with experience in the month-end closing process, and a solid understanding of financial corporate systems based on relational databases.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Data quality issue investigation - Investigate master data, transaction, and mapping issues that impact reporting and planning systems.
  • Manual adjustment – Define necessary manual adjustments to temporarily correct time-critical issues.
  • Data quality issue resolution – define solutions to fix incorrect data at source; work with users, data stewards and operations teams to ensure fixes are applied correctly.
  • Data quality assurance – work with process analysts to identify root causes of data quality issues and propose process and system improvements.
  • Monitoring –Utilize data quality reporting tools, system reconciliations, and direct data analysis to proactively identify potential data issues for resolution.
  • Ways of working – Contribute to enhancements in tools, methods, processes, documentation, and controls within the team.
  • Analysis – Perform data quality profiling and generate ad hoc data quality reports.

Essential

  • Experience of working with financial data and systems - SAP ECC or S4 Hana
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
  •  Experience with Power Query for data transformation and analysis
  • Background in data analysis and issue investigation in a complex data and system environment
  • Experience in the maintenance and use of common financial data (e.g. costs centres, profit centres, chart of accounts, transactional postings)
  • Good understanding of corporate finance
  • Good understanding of data quality and data management principles
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Desirable

  • Experience creating reports
  • Experience supporting Finance month end processes, reporting and planning
