Currently we are looking for The Medical Manager who will act as Therapy Area medical expert working in partnership with Healthcare Professionals in activities that help advance disease and therapeutics understanding and AZ business colleagues to provide medical insight and governance to deliver cross-functional brand team operational plans
Key Result Areas:
1. Scientific Information Management and Dissemination:
- Share emerging data with HCPs, discussing all aspects of the data in a scientific, objective, and balanced way.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for information about unapproved AZ products or unapproved uses of approved products, presenting such information in an objective, well balanced, substantiated manner that is scientific in tone and content, free of promotional messages, truthful, and is not misleading.
2. Contribution to Brand Strategy by supporting cross-functional team(s):
- Keep him/herself up to date in therapeutic area and product knowledge (including competitors)
- Provide AZ with an understanding of the local medical community, clinical practice trends, HCP and patient insight and real or perceived gaps in current scientific knowledge and medical treatment
3. Facilitate Local Clinical Research
4. Medical Affairs & Compliance
- Leads the defence or challenge of local Code of Practice cases.
- Identifies and briefs external speakers for national AZ symposia
- Delivers local medical communication & publication plan
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine or related field
- Current familiarity with healthcare environment (rare diseases desired) including opinion leaders, academia, the medical community, patient needs and related dynamics.
- Demonstrated expertise in synthesizing scientific information and communicating it effectively at peer level with HCPs
- Effective and demonstrated communication skills (both oral and written), including English.
- Good project and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills.
- Computer literacy
