Business Analyst in Controllership

Location: Warsaw

Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office

As a Controlling Business Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial controlling support across month-end activities, Balance Sheet governance, financial controls, and regulatory reporting. 

Working closely with Controlling, Operations, Group Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and external auditors, you will contribute to accurate financial submissions, strong controls, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close

  • Coordinate month-end close activities, including calendars, data preparation, journal review/approvals, reconciliations, and control documentation.
  • Ensure accurate Balance Sheet governance and timely submission of financial schedules.

Balance Sheet Controls & Reconciliations

  • Oversee preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring quality, completeness, and audit readiness.
  • Support accruals and provisions with clear, compliant documentation.

Regulatory & External Reporting Support

  • Assist with statutory and tax-related data submissions, including schedules for external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Collect and validate information required for central bank or statistical reporting where applicable.

Financial Controls / SOX

  • Act as a Control Owner for key SOX/Financial Controls, ensuring effective execution, documentation, remediation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Support internal and external audits with high-quality evidence and proactive issue management.

Analytical Support & Reporting

  • Deliver executive-ready analyses and presentations, translating complex data into clear business insights.
  • Produce and maintain financial reports used for management decisions and controlling processes.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, and automation opportunities across controlling and reporting activities.
  • Partner effectively with global and cross-functional teams, building strong working relationships.

Essential Criteria

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, controlling, or FP&A.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting fundamentals, including accruals, reconciliations, and Balance Sheet management.
  • Experience with SAP (FI/CO), BW, and advanced Excel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, including explaining financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse global teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reporting (PowerPoint).
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable Criteria

  • Professional finance qualification (or in progress).
  • Experience with financial controls / SOX environments.
  • Exposure to commercial or sales finance environments.
  • Additional systems experience (e.g., BlackLine).
