About the Role
As a Diagnostics Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely, high-quality in-market companion diagnostics and testing solutions that enable optimal treatment decisions throughout the oncology patient journey. You will develop strategic, long-term partnerships across the complex oncology ecosystem, grounded in deep scientific expertise and a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic pathways. Your efforts will help shape the future of oncology care by improving access to accurate, reliable testing.
Key Responsibilities
Insight Gathering
· Engage external experts to understand local testing practices, emerging diagnostic technologies, and molecular disease mechanisms.
· Collect diagnostic data from labs and hospitals, including quality assurance and positivity rates.
· Integrate and share insights with internal teams to support diagnostic strategies, brand plans, and medical initiatives.
Develop Diagnostic Strategy & Improve the Testing Environment
· Build and implement diagnostic strategic plans aligned with global therapeutic scorecards, BSPs, iMAPs, and above-brand objectives.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve access, quality, and reimbursement of diagnostic testing.
· Identify and address challenges in current testing pathways; develop solutions to reduce diagnostic barriers.
· Partner with P&MA to explore innovative access and reimbursement models for companion diagnostics.
· Develop relationships with diagnostic manufacturers to expand access and negotiate commercial terms.
· Ensure market readiness and testing excellence for product launches.
· Utilize and help generate diagnostic-related evidence, identifying local or global evidence gaps.
Capability Building
· Serve as a subject matter expert to external stakeholders.
· Deliver diagnostic-related education via meetings, congresses, digital channels, and exhibitions.
· Strengthen diagnostic understanding within MDTs, DMUs, and testing laboratories.
· Support internal colleagues as an educational resource and build cross-functional diagnostic expertise.
· Partner closely with medical, commercial, P&MA, and other cross-functional teams to ensure launch readiness.
· Provide insights to P&MA on pricing and reimbursement strategies for therapies and associated diagnostics.
· Share credible scientific information on diagnostic tests, trends, and AstraZeneca’s diagnostic pipeline.
Compliance
· Complete all required training.
· Comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including the Code of Ethics, Ethical Interaction Policy, Privacy Standards, and Procurement standards.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
· University degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences.
· Strong understanding of the local diagnostic/testing landscape and the oncology ecosystem.
