Biopharm Business Unit Director
Job Description
With clear understanding of Korean pharmaceutical market dynamics and internal capabilities, the Business Unit Director develops and implements short/long term sales and marketing objectives and strategies to achieve business goals. As a member of AZ Korea marketing company’s senior leadership team, the Business Unit Director participates in high-level decision making processes while providing commercial inputs and their financial implications.
Typical Accountabilities
- Lead development and execution of overall marketing strategies to achieve the marketing company’s business goals
- Oversee development and execution of product portfolio management strategies and business development activities to achieve maximum portfolio value while properly allocating resources.
- Provide strategic directions to Marketing staffs; ensure seamless implementation of long and short-term product marketing strategies and tactical plans to maximize product potentials.
- Provide sales leadership management skills to sales mangers to ensure MRs work effectively
- Develop, achieve objectives and continually review the Unit’s budget, P&L and efficiently manage financial resources.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders, government officials, policy makers, and other influencers; enhance corporate image among them and make them advocates for the Company.
- Enhance the Unit’s capability through coaching, positive feedback, and guidance for unit managers.
- Facilitate collaboration within the organization to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in business processes.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the marketing company, regional organization, and headquarter.
- Ensures the achievement of sales and market objectives through proper direction and motivation of staff
- Ensures successful implementation of strategic plan by sales force effectiveness, monitoring process and adjusting priorities as appropriate
- Achieves budgeted profitability by effectively managing department costs and identifying ways of achieving operational efficiency.
- Lead and manage strategic business partnerships
Qualification Essential
- Advanced degree in in a relevant subject area
- Similar role with successful track record in Sales and/or Marketing management
- Proven experience in leadership roles, preferably at a country or multinational level
- Strong understanding of business and environment landscape
- Strategic focus and result orientation
- Ability to influence, inspire, motivate and drive results with teams

- Ability to effectively represent the organization to diverse stakeholders
- Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate and adopt to challenges and opportunities
