Associate Director, Product Manager – Digital & AI Cell Therapy
The Associate Director, Product Manager, Digital Applications will own the product roadmap, requirements definition and delivery of digital and AI capabilities for Cell Therapy Development with focus on Supply Chain systems. The key focus would be to enable end‑to‑end vein‑to‑vein orchestration for cell therapy, cell therapy control tower, data analytics and AI applications. You will partner closely with Cell Therapy Operations, Patient Operations, and Commercial Operations to deliver a seamless, compliant, and intuitive user experience across internal teams, clinical sites, couriers, CMOs, and HCPs. You may be based in Gaithersburg, MD or Santa Monica/Tarzana, CA and will report to the Director, Operations IT – Business Partner Cell Therapy.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision: Define and evolve the vision and multi‑year roadmap for the Cell Therapy digital and AI applications, aligned to clinical and commercial milestones, cost‑to‑serve, and patient lead time reduction.
Cross‑Functional Partnerships: Collaborate deeply with Cell Therapy Operations (manufacturing and logistics), Patient Operations (case management, site coordination), and Commercial Operations (launch readiness, market expansion) to ensure business outcomes and adoption.
User Experience Leadership: Champion seamless user experiences for schedulers, apheresis coordinators, manufacturing operators, quality reviewers, couriers, case managers, and HCPs; drive human‑centered design, usability testing, and accessible interfaces for high‑stakes workflows.
AI‑Driven Product Lifecycle: Leverage AI/ML to accelerate requirements refinement, backlog grooming, test automation, release readiness, exception detection, and predictive ETA/capacity planning
HCP‑Facing Products: Lead design and delivery ofHCP‑facing digital products (e.g., site portals, ordering and scheduling workflows, status tracking), ensuring clarity, reliability, and integration with site systems.
Backlog & Delivery Management: Maintain a prioritized backlog balancing new features, technical debt, reliability, and compliance; lead Agile teams with clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Engineering Partnership: Translate business problems into clear technical requirements; work closely with engineering to shape architecture, APIs, data models, and workflow orchestration; make trade‑offs across performance, reliability, security, and time‑to‑value.
Data & Analytics: Define canonical data models and event streams; enable operational dashboards, predictive ETA, capacity planning, and exception management; support advanced analytics without compromising privacy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or related field; advanced degree preferred with 7+ years in product management for digital platforms / applications
API integration (REST/GraphQL), event streaming, workflow engines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP); understanding of IOT sensors and courier integrations.
Practical experience applying AI/ML for product lifecycle acceleration (e.g., requirements / user story development, test case creation / automation, anomaly detection, release risk signals is desirable.
Ability to lead Agile teams, define OKRs, manage backlogs, and deliver incremental value, strong vendor and contract management.
Exceptional communication and influencing skills with business and IT leadership
Data literacy and experience defining KPIs, analyzing performance, and making value‑risk trade‑offs.
Working knowledge of IAM, audit logging, encryption, and secure partner connectivity.
Preferred Skills
Experience with vein‑to‑vein orchestration platforms, scheduling engines, courier/TMS integrations, and TE sensors.
Demonstrated experience delivering HCP‑facing products or portals with high usability, reliability, and integration to site workflows.
Prior work integrating chain‑of‑identity/chain‑of‑custody solutions, patient/HCP portals, and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR).
Regulatory Knowledge: Proven delivery of GxP systems with CSV/CSA, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and privacy regulations (HIPAA/GDPR).

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $129K to $193K. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
