Distributor Governance & Alliance Lead
Distributor Governance & Oversight
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Distributor Management Framework across CAMCAR, ensuring consistent application of AstraZeneca standards and governance expectations.
- Establish and maintain a risk-based distributor segmentation model to prioritize governance activities, oversight intensity, remediation efforts and resource allocation according to distributor risk, business criticality and performance.
- Establish and maintain robust governance mechanisms for distributors, including review forums, action tracking, monitoring routines, accountability structures, and escalation pathways.
- Ensure distributor operating models, ways of working, and governance processes are aligned with AstraZeneca requirements related to compliance, commercial discipline, documentation, approvals, and execution standards.
- Support the review and strengthening of distributor contracts and governance requirements in partnership with Legal, Procurement, Compliance, and business teams.
- Drive periodic reassessment of distributor performance, risk exposure, and adherence to agreed standards, ensuring follow-up actions are implemented and sustained over time.
Execution Assurance and Control Reinforcement
- Strengthen oversight of distributor execution by moving beyond communication of requirements and ensuring the existence of appropriate evidence, documentation, and verification of implementation in practice.
- Improve traceability and control over distributor activities, including documentation, approvals, delivery support, returns, execution records, and follow-up of agreed actions.
- Monitor adherence to AstraZeneca instructions, policies, and contractual obligations, identifying deviations, recurring issues, or control gaps and coordinating timely corrective actions.
- Promote strong governance over distributor-led field and commercial activities to ensure execution is visible, controlled, and aligned with company expectations.
Commercial Governance and Inventory-Related Controls
- Support the strengthening of governance over commercial practices involving distributors, including areas such as discounts, rebates, exceptions, inventory risk, and approval discipline.
- Partner with Commercial and Supply Chain teams to improve visibility over distributor stock levels, in-market movements, demand signals, stock anomalies, and overstocking risk.
- Contribute to the development of monitoring tools, dashboards, and reporting routines that enhance decision-making and reinforce business control over distributor operations.
- Identify operational and commercial risk signals and coordinate cross-functional actions to mitigate exposure and improve execution consistency.
Alliance and Third-Party Management
- Act as the primary business point of contact for selected third-party partners supporting commercial execution, promotion, and outsourced initiatives, particularly in mature brands or partner-led business models.
- Manage the operational relationship with external partners, including coordination, issue resolution, timeline follow-up, project execution, performance monitoring, and day-to-day governance.
- Support the definition and follow-up of service expectations, KPIs, SLAs, and performance indicators for third-party partnerships.
- Ensure outsourced and alliance-based activities are executed in line with AstraZeneca standards, business priorities, and governance requirements.
- Ensure governance, monitoring, performance oversight and compliance across all distributor engagement models, including traditional distributors, promotional distributors, third-party commercial execution models, alliance partners and outsourced service providers, maintaining consistent standards of control, execution excellence and accountability.
Cross-Functional Governance and Business Partnering
- Coordinate with Commercial, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Medical, Procurement, and Supply Chain stakeholders to ensure consistent standards, clear accountabilities, and effective management of distributor and third-party partners.
- Act as the central coordination point between Commercial, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Finance, Medical and Supply Chain teams for distributor governance and third-party execution matters.
- Facilitate governance meetings, business reviews, and cross-functional discussions to assess performance, resolve issues, align priorities, and track decisions to closure.
- Maintain robust governance documentation, trackers, meeting minutes, and action logs to support transparency, traceability, and disciplined follow-up.
- Act as a trusted business partner to internal stakeholders by translating governance requirements into practical and sustainable operating routines.
Performance Monitoring, Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Define, track, and report relevant KPIs related to distributor governance, third-party execution, partner performance, compliance adherence, operational quality, and issue resolution.
- Consolidate operational and strategic insights to support decisions on partner continuity, corrective actions, capability building, and governance enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and strengthen governance and oversight processes across distributors and external partners.
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset, helping the organization evolve from reactive issue management to proactive partner governance and sustainable execution control.
Project Management, Risk & Remediation
- Lead the planning, implementation, execution and monitoring of distributor governance and third-party management initiatives across the region.
- Establish project governance structures, timelines, milestones and accountability mechanisms to ensure successful implementation of strategic and operational initiatives.
- Proactively identify, assess and manage risks, issues, dependencies and escalation needs affecting distributor performance, governance effectiveness or business continuity.
- Lead or coordinate remediation plans to address compliance findings, contractual gaps, operational weaknesses, audit observations and governance deficiencies.
- Drive change management activities associated with new policies, governance requirements, operating models and distributor capability enhancement programs.
- Ensure lessons learned, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement actions are systematically captured and implemented.
Experience and Education
- University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Health Sciences, Law, Supply Chain, or related fields.
- Solid experience in commercial operations, distributor management, alliance management, third-party oversight, business operations, compliance-related governance, or similar roles.
- Experience managing external partners, distributors, vendors, or outsourced service providers.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry or another highly regulated industry is highly valued.
- Advanced English and Spanish.
