Business Excellence Director (CAMCAR)
Within CAMCAR Cluster, we offer an exciting opportunity in the Business Excellence area for the role of Business Excellence Director, based in CAMCAR. This position plays a pivotal role in enabling the effective development and execution of the Cluster business strategy by identifying, prioritizing, and monitoring key success factors that address the evolving needs of patients and support both the short- and long-term objectives of the organization.
The Business Excellence Director leads the teams, platforms, tools, and processes that drive commercial and business excellence—designing, planning, and implementing initiatives that maximize top- and bottom-line results across Launch Excellence, Business Intelligence, Sales Force Effectiveness, Training, Meetings and Events, and Patient Support Programs. The role fosters a data‑ and digital‑first culture, ensures the seamless performance of commercial operations, maintains strict compliance with regulations, and efficiently manages corresponding budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the short- and long-term strategy, development roadmap, and goals for each Business Excellence area, ensuring all tactics are integrated under strategic umbrellas and platforms.
- Lead the setup and implementation of a multichannel strategy grounded in customer insights and market trends, aligned with TA strategies and company objectives.
- Foster a strong data‑driven culture, championing analytics and digital adoption across the Cluster and ensuring broad awareness of digital, learning/launch, commercial, and analytics initiatives.
- Design and execute next‑generation engagement and go‑to‑market models for the Cluster.
- Manage and develop a high‑performance, agile team, encouraging innovation, resilience, continuous improvement, and customer focus. Provide coaching and leadership to enable team members to deliver at their best.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for sales teams and other relevant stakeholders to enhance product knowledge, selling capabilities, and compliance.
- Identify and build partnerships with innovative external collaborators and beyond‑the‑molecule solutions that support AstraZeneca’s mission to improve patient outcomes across digital platforms.
- Ensure all projects comply with ethics standards, and applicable local/international laws, with a strong emphasis on Data Privacy, Commercial & Promotional Boundaries, and Risk Management.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of meetings and events, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Drive launch excellence, including strategy development, performance tracking, and post‑launch analysis with actionable recommendations.
- Develop and manage patient support programs that ensure seamless access to products and services, improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 10 years of experience managing teams in complex, fast‑changing environments.
- Experience leading Launch Excellence processes.
- Strong resilience, innovation mindset, and ability to challenge the status quo.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience in Franchise, Marketing, and Sales Management within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of CRM platforms and related processes, including cycle plan design, field team insights, and omnichannel capability integration.
- Experience working in innovative, cross‑functional business environments, preferably with strong Sales Force Effectiveness background.
- Ability to communicate and influence across multiple organizational levels, from senior leadership to local and above‑market teams.
- Strong business analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data, drive insights, and articulate clear, concise narratives that support decision‑making.
- Strong digital competencies (Teams, Copilot, ChatGPT, PowerPoint, Power BI).
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business, Data Science, Medical Sciences, or related fields.
- Entrepreneurial experience in Tech, Pharma, or HealthTech ecosystems.
- Deep knowledge and experience in Oncology, Rare Diseases, R&I, and CVRM.
