This multifunctional role is responsible for the comprehensive management, maintenance, and improvement of IT systems, primarily focused on Finance, wholesaler management, HR and other enabling domains. The role leads day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) operations, ensures sustainable and compliant system lifecycle management, and cultivates strategic partnerships with business stakeholders. By aligning IT services and solutions with business requirements and applying AZ’s global IT standard methodologies, this position maximizes business value, fosters operational excellence, and delivers innovative, dependable technology that supports business goals.
Role and Responsibilities
- Maximize business value by ensuring Finance, wholesaler management, HR and other enabling domains’ IT systems are effectively aligned with business needs, sustaining reliable and efficient operations in accordance with CET business objectives.
- Take end-to-end accountability for IT systems operations, covering all aspects of lifecycle management, including design, implementation, maintenance, upgrade, and retirement, in accordance with AZ’s global IT operation methodologies.
- Ensure all core IT Service Management processes are in scope and expertly managed: Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Level Management, and Configuration Management.
- Lead and coordinate daily BAU operations, overseeing routine process execution, resolving operational and system escalations, and driving service improvement to maintain high performance and quality standards.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the business area for all IT needs, partnering with business stakeholders to anticipate strategic, operational, and market requirements, and translating these into optimized processes and technical solutions in collaboration with IT teams.
- Collaborate proactively with AZ global IT teams and preferred suppliers to deliver strategic and innovative technology solutions that align with global standards and fulfill business and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the IT planning process for new or enhanced systems, building sound business cases, analyzing key requirements, and engaging business stakeholders to support, improve, or transform operations and strategy.
- Develop comprehensive service transition plans to ensure new solutions are sustainable in the production environment, facilitating controlled handover to operational support teams.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, up-to-date system inventories, and configuration records to support compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor service delivery performance and quality, collecting feedback from business users, identifying areas for improvement, and leading initiatives for process optimization and technical enhancement.
- Ensure the team adheres to AZ global IT Policies, Standards, Guidelines (e.g., ADF, SOP, GxP, quality and compliance), as well as technical capabilities and best practices in all areas of operation and support.
- Facilitate onboarding and training for new staff, ensuring comprehensive understanding of system functionality, operational standards, and business processes.
- Foster a high-performance and innovative work environment, encouraging proactive problem solving and continuous improvement across the team.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning, assuring preparedness, regular testing, and resilience of critical systems and operational activities.
- Establish and nurture strong strategic partnerships with customer groups and senior stakeholders to ensure accurate demand forecasting, capacity planning, and effective delivery of IT solutions.
- Present regular reports on system health, BAU activities, operational alignment, business engagement, and service metrics to management and key stakeholders.

- Proven experience in managing IT systems, leading operational teams.
- Working closely with business stakeholders including Global team.
- 3+ years of experience of project management.

- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Advanced certifications in systems administration, IT operations, business relationship management, or relevant platforms are preferred.

- Knowledge of businesses in HR, Finance in Pharma industry or Wholesaler in Pharma industry.
- Strong technical expertise in system administration and IT operations with excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Proven leadership, coordination, and organizational skills to manage daily operations and deliver results.
- Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to drive operational excellence, ensure compliance, and foster process improvement proactively.
- Customer-focused mindset, with adaptability and commitment to business partnership.
- Fundamental knowledge of Budgetary Control, Activity Planning/Control, based on their mechanism as well as the knowledge of businesses.
