Director, Global Strategic Sourcing Early Discovery & Research

We are expanding our Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) team, dedicated to supporting our Global Portfolio in new modalities of intervention and therapeutic areas. As Director of Early Discovery and Research GSS, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our R&D organization, focusing on delivering essential medicines to patients suffering from rare diseases in over 100 countries worldwide.

In this role, you will develop and spearhead category strategies for Early Discovery Research projects, including Translational Science, Genomic Medicine, Cell/Gene Therapy, Non-Toxicology and other assigned category areas. You will partner with key collaborators to guide supply market dynamics and leading practices, establish a best practices Category Management and Strategic Sourcing program, and manage interactions with partners to establish best-in-class Sourcing Category Strategies. You will also keep abreast of market trends, benchmarks, and best practices across managed categories, leveraging this knowledge to optimize results and maintain a high standard of excellence.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of Bio-Pharma industry experience with extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Experience in working in a highly ambitious, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial skills for budget management, cost analysis, and strategic decision-making in procurement.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills; tenacious problem-solving focus with a propensity for building mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Excellent communication and ability to influence others.
  • Subject expertise with Early Discovery and Research, specifically Cell and Gene Therapy is preferred.
  • Certification such as CPSM or equivalent is preferred.
