SEO Strategy Lead

Join us as a GCO SEO Strategy Lead at AstraZeneca, a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company. In this role, you will champion the organic optimization efforts for a set of digital assets for brands within our organization. You will act as the digital customer engagement partner, understanding brand and digital asset objectives and challenges to deliver organic search strategies based on user data and platform guidelines. Accountabilities:

As a GCO SEO Strategy Lead, you will manage the direction of all tactical organic (non-paid) Search Engine Optimization deliverables completed by the SEO delivery team. Your goal is to ensure digital assets are launched and updated with search engine best practices, while aiming to help asset owners meet their website goals. You will also be responsible for identifying, operationalizing, evolving, and maintaining a comprehensive set of class-leading digital capabilities and processes in support of brand strategies within the context of the broader commercial operations governance structure.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience working in SEO, paid media, or the digital creative area

  • Experience in the healthcare-related field, or any other highly regulated industry

  • Experience reporting to leadership or clients on SEO, SEM, Paid media, or digital creative strategy

  • Proven track record of developing and articulating a strategy aimed at solutions for a business challenge, as well as executing digital marketing programs

  • Experienced in prioritizing, scheduling, and optimizing website content

  • Proven success guiding the technology team & website developers to follow best practices

  • Strong understanding of best practices around website architecture, accessibility, and user experience

  • Embraces teamwork and can also work independently

  • Adaptable to changing processes and organizational structure

  • Excellent communication and story-telling skills, comfortable speaking and presenting to medium-large groups

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Pharmaceutical Marketing Experience

  • Experience in a client facing, account management SEO role

  • Experience developing or adhering to marketing operations standards within a large organization

  • Proven experience driving measurable, positive results based on search strategy

  • Understanding of how paid media tactics & organic search (SEO) work together

  • Experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics and attribution solutions

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools

  • Familiarity with JIRA software

  • Familiarity with SEO tools such as Brightedge, SEM Rush, Moz, Google Search Console, etc.

  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
