Senior Manager, Epidemiology Operations

Introduction to role:
The Epidemiology team at Alexion-AstraZeneca Rare Disease Unit is expanding and driving the scientific use of Real World Data to accelerate patient access to innovative medicines. As the Senior Manager, Epidemiology Operations, you will support department operations for rare disease epidemiology and real world data analytics on a global scale. You will oversee the development, incorporation, and analytics from Alexion's TriNetX platform to evaluate rare disease clinical trial protocols, identify clinical trial sites, and support clinical trial diversity efforts. You will collaborate closely with other Epidemiologists, Real World Scientists, Clinical Project Leaders, and Medical Directors. Additionally, you will track and monitor utilization metrics of the TriNetX platform, identify gaps, and provide training and outreach to teams. You will also coordinate department meetings, track contracts and budgets, manage deliverables, prepare reports for senior management, and support onboarding for new team members.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead the conduct of analytics within the TriNetX platform in support of clinical trial protocol feasibility, and planning for clinical trial implementation. (30%)
- Track and monitor utilization metrics of the TriNetX platform for rare disease clinical trials across project teams and identify gaps. (10%)
- Provide training and outreach to teams surrounding the use of TriNetX in clinical trial planning. (10%)
- Work with Epidemiology and Real World Science leadership around coordination of department and leadership team meetings, tracking contracts and monitor department budget; tracking deliverables, achievements, and publications; reporting to senior management with updates on department successes; provide onboarding support for new members of the department. (50%).
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field with at least 3 years post-graduation experience.
- Ability to use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem-solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience in coordinating teams and financial budgets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong people and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well across multiple functional areas and business levels.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Experience with project management applications and/or other statistical software.
