As a Procurement Specialist, you'll be part of the Americas Procurement Category team, focusing on supporting global categories in the Americas region. Reporting to the Senior Director of Category Management Americas, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our scientific innovations reach patients quickly and efficiently.

Accountabilities:

  • As a Procurement Specialist, you will collaborate with the relevant Director or Associate Director to manage spend categories across various regions or the entire AstraZeneca organization.

  • You will help develop long-term strategic plans for spend areas, ensuring alignment with current and future business needs.

  • Your role will involve working closely with customers and suppliers to implement category strategies that deliver expected business value.

  • You'll be responsible for managing the implementation of category plans and driving process improvements.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in procurement sourcing and category management

  • Oral and written fluency in Business English

  • Strong analytical and financial skills

  • Strong communicator, ability to influence others

  • Project management


Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Professional Procurement Qualification

  • Experience with Consulting, Financial, or other Professional services procurement categories

  • Strong working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or related industries

  • Significant negotiation experience with favorable outcomes for stakeholders
