Introduction to role
The Director, Digital Excellence and Amplification leads the design, operationalization, and scaling of outstanding digital campaign frameworks and paid media amplification across business areas, therapy areas, and markets for Global Corporate Affairs. This role sits at the heart of the Centre of Digital Excellence, setting standards, playbooks, and operating models that drive consistency, speed, and performance while staying aligned with corporate priorities and compliance requirements. Working in close partnership with GNS, GBS, Commercial, and a broad portfolio of agencies, this leader orchestrates integrated digital programs that deliver measurable impact and build sustainable capabilities across the organization. Accountabilities
Lead the development and rollout of modular digital campaign frameworks that cover strategy, audience, creative, channels, and measurement, ensuring consistent adoption across business areas, therapy areas, and markets.
Own and coordinate the digital agency ecosystem, from scope definition and onboarding through performance oversight, rate and fee governance, and integration with internal teams and platforms.
Define and govern paid media strategies across channels including search, programmatic, social, video, native, HCP networks, and endemic/non-endemic partners, setting guardrails and investment principles for compliant and efficient deployment.
Develop and maintain digital playbooks, templates, and toolkits that standardize planning, execution, tagging, and measurement, ensuring they are current, easy to use, and adaptable for local needs.
Establish scalable operating models, RACIs, workflows, and SLAs that enable repeatable delivery of digital programs while embedding test-and-learn approaches and continuous improvement.
Drive cross-functional orchestration for major initiatives, aligning programs, platforms, analytics, content operations, procurement, and regional stakeholders around shared goals.
Partner with Brand teams to align key success indicators and north star metrics across the 3A framework; collaborate with analytics teams to implement consistent taxonomy, tagging, dashboards, media mix modelling, attribution, and optimization cadences.
Lead all aspects of compliance and risk management for digital programs and amplification activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory, privacy, and GNS requirements with robust documentation and audit readiness.
Lead change management and enablement activities such as training, office hours, and communities of practice to drive adoption of frameworks and tools and realize value at scale.
Own budget planning for program excellence and amplification initiatives; optimize investments across channels, partners, and markets while monitoring return on investment and reinvesting takeaways.
Ensure successful adoption of Centre of Digital Excellence frameworks across corporate digital programs, delivering performance uplift, effective governance, operational efficiency, and capability building across Global Corporate Affairs.
Essential Skills/Experience
Experience: 10+ years in digital marketing, omnichannel, or media, with 5+ years leading large, cross functional programs; experience in matrixed, global organizations.
Strategy and execution: Proven track record to compose and scale digital frameworks, operating models, and paid media strategies across multiple brands and geographies.
Agency leadership: Demonstrated success managing agency ecosystems, contracts/scopes, and performance against SLAs and critical metrics.
Measurement expertise: Strong command of campaign analytics, tagging/taxonomy, experimentation frameworks, and dashboarding; evidence of driving optimization at scale.
Governance and compliance: Familiarity with privacy, regulatory, and GNS processes; ability to implement compliant guardrails without sacrificing agility.
Platforms and tools: Solid understanding of social media and marketing platforms.
Leadership and influence: Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership; ability to align diverse teams and drive adoption.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 149,131.20 to 195,734.70.AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs. In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.
In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role). Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
