Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Join us at AstraZeneca as a Procurement Specialist, a key role within our innovative Procurement ecosystem. We are the guardians of cost and value, impacting the entire business and helping to fulfil AstraZeneca’s purpose: pushing the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines. This role is based at our UK Operations site in Macclesfield, Cheshire where you will be on-site working directly with your stakeholders and suppliers. You will operate in a variety of areas but mostly Direct Materials.  Business Partnering is a key part of the role - working closely with stakeholders to ensure sustainable supply from high performing suppliers.

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the commercial elements of the sourcing process and will be proficient in constructing new contracts to deadlines.

Accountabilities:

  • Negotiating and maintaining contracts/supply agreements for your allocated area.

  • In conjunction with your peers in Global Procurement you will identify and lead Value/Savings Initiatives in support of a long-term Business Strategy.  

  • Carrying out regular Business Review Meetings with suppliers ensuring solid performance.

  • Reviewing supply risks and ensuring appropriate mitigation is in place and agreed with the relevant stakeholders to ensure business continuity.

  • Working with our operations colleagues to deliver waste & plastic reduction across the site.

  • Support our business on sustainability through Decarbonisation to help achieve Net Zero by 2045

Essential Skills/Experience:

- Procurement experience preferably within an operations environment

- Supplier Management experience

- Strong contracting experience and confidence in putting Agreements together to deadlines

- Excellent Business Partnering & communication skills

- Passion for Sustainability

- Tenacity to achieve results

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- MCIPS Qualified
