Position: Medical Affairs Manager (Transthyretin amyloidosis ATTR and CV Early Assets)

As part of the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic (CVRM) Medical Affairs team, you will be accountable for workstreams that advance clinical practice, improve patient outcomes, and promote health equality. You will also be accountable for establishing and maintaining AZ’s position as the scientific leader and partner of choice, delivering high-level external stakeholder engagement with expert clinicians, professional societies and patient groups.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of world-class medical and brand strategy across ATTR and CV early assets. You will support the launch and rapid patient access of innovative medicines in the CVRM space. You will also support the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives which are scalable and impact clinical practice. Collaborating with key external stakeholders to advance clinical practice, you will maintain AstraZeneca’s position as the scientific leaders and partners of choice. You will also support evidence generation and dissemination initiatives which have impact on clinical practice. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to influence system policy and clinical guidelines, you will build and support internal scientific expertise and capability on TA and product knowledge. You will provide expert medical input into regulatory submissions/variations and national and regional market access initiatives.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Science degree - BPHARM, BSc, MBBS or equivalent
  • Proven experience of being innovative and thinking creatively; eg. changing clinical pathways for benefit of the patients
  • Proven ability to partner with senior external stakeholders, including clinicians, professional societies and patient groups
  • Strong communication skills and project management experience
  • Evidence of effective team working and accountability
  • Proven track record of successful execution of strategically aligned plans

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Clinical or medical affairs experience in cardiovascular/metabolic diseases, preferably amyloidosis and/or dyslipidaemia
  • Medical affairs experience in UK
  • Higher bioscience degree (master’s, MD or PhD)
  • Familiarity with UK pathways in cardiovascular disease
