About AstraZeneca:

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that concentrates on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines addressing some of the planet’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.

Introduction to role:

Are you excited to influence prescribing decisions and expand access to life-changing medicines across Guwahati? In this pivotal commercial role, you will turn robust clinical evidence into real-world adoption, connecting strategy to territory growth and measurable patient impact.

You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that leans into high-reaching ideas and strong external engagement. Your success will be defined by the sales targets you deliver, the market share you grow, and the positive relationships you build with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare professionals. Can you see yourself crafting local healthcare practices by aligning scientific value with the needs of providers?

Accountabilities:

Territory Strategy Execution: Implement sales direction, procedures, and a detailed plan of action following corporate protocols to deliver territory objectives.

Performance Monitoring: Regularly supervise the sales activity across the territory and initiate timely interventions to keep results on plan and accelerate growth.

  • Access and Enlistment: Assist in bringing newly introduced and critical products into hospitals and clinics to expand availability and adoption.

  • Conduct organized market research and competitor evaluation to uncover territory business opportunities and deliver mentorship on prioritization.

  • Promotion and Awareness: Participate in campaigns designed to enhance product visibility and support evidence-based prescribing.

  • Customer Data Excellence: Continuously update customer grouping, information database, and phone call history to improve coverage, frequency, and decision-making.

  • Trust and Compliance: Gain the trust of customers by showing integrity and demonstrating dedication to the AZ Conduct Guidelines.

  • Personal Development: Identify areas for self-development and communicate development priorities with FLSM, turning feedback into improved performance.

  • Relationship Growth: Develop the territory by building strong customer relationships that boost sales figures and broaden market share for designated products.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Experience effectively implementing sales strategy, tactics, and POA or equivalent experience in accordance with company policies.

  • Track record of supervising territory sales performance and initiating appropriate actions to align results with objectives.

  • Proven track record to facilitate enlistment of newly launched and key products in medical establishments and care providers.

  • Capability to conduct market and competitor analysis to pinpoint opportunities for expanding business in the designated zone.

  • Experience participating in promotional activity programs to increase product awareness.

  • Strong field in maintaining up-to-date customer classification, database, and call records.

  • Ability to build trust and credibility with customers by demonstrating professionalism and acting within the AZ Code of Conduct.

  • Commitment to self-development and to discussing developmental needs with FLSM.

  • Ability to positively influence customers’ prescribing behavior to achieve sales targets and increase sales volume and market share in the territory.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience in hospital and clinic settings.

  • Established relationships with key decision-makers and formulary customers in Guwahati and the surrounding region.

  • Strength in data-driven territory planning and use of CRM and market analytics tools.

  • Skill in evidence-led, consultative selling and external scientific engagement.

  • Fluency in English and local languages; strong written and verbal communication.

  • Resilience, pace, and collaborative attitude to work across functions and adapt to change.

When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash ambitious thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines. In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That's why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office. But that doesn't mean we're not flexible. We balance the expectation of being in the office while respecting individual flexibility. Join us in our unique and high-reaching world.

Why AstraZeneca:

Join a purposeful company where you can see the impact of compelling medical evidence translated into everyday practice. Here, unexpected teams collaborate to spark bold thinking, we run ambitious real-world studies, and we use data and external engagement to drive change in healthcare. Your commercial results help reinvest in science, your relationships accelerate adoption for patients, and your growth is supported by a culture that values kindness alongside ambition.

Step forward to own the Guwahati territory, grow market share, and help more patients access the medicines they need while elevating your commercial impact!
