Thesis Work Description:  

In this thesis, you will investigate MS/MS fragmentation using alternative activation mechanisms. The primary techniques will include UVPD (Ultraviolet Photodissociation), with a focus on setting up and controlling a 193nm EXCIMER laser within an FT-ICR-MS instrument. You will also compare UVPD results with EID/EAD (Electron-Induced Dissociation/Activation) and CID (Collision-Induced Dissociation). 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Ongoing Master's Degree studies in relevant discipline 
  • Good basic knowledge in mass spectrometry 
  • Strong interest in chemistry and physics  
  • Strong interest in practical and technical lab work
