But we’re more than a global leading pharmaceutical company. At AstraZeneca, we're dedicated to being a Great Place to Work and empowering employees to push the boundaries of science and fuel their entrepreneurial spirit.
About the Programme
Our 12‑month Work Placement Student Programme, starting in September 2026, offers hands‑on experience in innovative drug discovery within a collaborative, research‑driven organisation. Based at AstraZeneca’s Gothenburg site, you’ll deepen your expertise, apply your skills on real projects, and develop new capabilities. You’ll be mentored by experienced scientists and become an integral part of a supportive, high‑performing team.
About the role
In this role you will perform lab‑based assignments focused on generating early DMPK (Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics) data to inform the design of novel chemical entities. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in experiment setup and execution, data quality assessment and analysis, enabling you to independently deliver high‑quality results to project teams. Training will include operating automated liquid‑handling robotics and working with LC/MS/MS systems. You’ll collaborate with other teams across the department to broaden your exposure—for example, contributing to in vitro cell‑based or biochemical assays—and build a strong understanding of the end‑to‑end drug discovery process. Timely delivery, rigorous documentation and attention to detail are essential in this role.
About the team
