Introduction to Role:

The Senior Director, Clinical CRM & AI-Driven Site Engagement is a key member of the Clinical Operations Transformation leadership team and is accountable for redefining site engagement strategy through the development and deployment of innovative CRM solutions coordinated with Next Best Clinical Action AI capabilities. This role will lead the strategic vision and operational execution to build a unified Clinical CRM platform that connects with Medical Affairs CRM, enabling enterprise-wide visibility and orchestrated scientific messaging across thefieldforce.

This ground-breaking leader will partner closely with IT, Enterprise AI, and business partners todemonstrateinnovativeartificial intelligence to deliver next best action recommendations that improve site engagement, address operational challenges, and accelerate clinical trial enrollment. The role requires an outstanding leader who is comfortable with ambiguity,possessesan entrepreneurial and enterprise mentality, and is passionate about changing how AstraZeneca delivers clinical operations through digital innovation.

Accountabilities:
• Accountable for defining and implementing the strategic roadmap for Clinical CRM solutions and AI-driven site engagement across AstraZeneca's global clinical trial portfolio
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of a unified Clinical CRM platform that integrates with Medical Affairs CRM to build seamless cross-functional visibility
• Define and champion the Next Best Clinical Action AI strategy, bringing to bear artificial intelligence to recommend optimal actions for site engagement
• Drive transformation of site engagement processes and choreograph scientific messaging cascades through field teams
• Partner strategically with IT, Enterprise AI, and external technology vendors to build, deploy, and scale Clinical CRM and AI solutions
• Lead operational execution of CRM deployment across global clinical trial sites, including process redesign, change management, and training
• Establish and complete early adopter pilot programs across therapeutic areas to validate AI-driven approaches
• Develop and implement performance dashboards with important metrics to track site engagement effectiveness and enrollment velocity
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing distributed team of CRM specialists, AI engineers, data scientists, and business analysts
• Ensure all CRM and AI solutions align with ICH-GCP guidelines, data privacy regulations (GDPR), and AstraZeneca quality standards

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive experience in clinical operations, CRM technology, AI/data science, digital transformation, or related fields
• Proven leadership experience building and managing global, cross-functional teams in technology development or AI implementation
• Deep understanding of CRM platforms, AI/machine learning technologies, and their application to clinical trial operations
• Knowledge of clinical trial processes, site management, enrollment strategies, and ICH-GCP compliance
• Strategic problem solver with ability to define long-term vision while delivering tactical initiatives
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in ambiguity

Where can I find out more?

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $196,382.00, to $294,573.60 . Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
