HBS Biocentre Technical Lead
Hybrid mode: 3 days in office 2 remote work
In this pivotal role, you will lead the technology delivery of integration and lab orchestration capabilities, optimizing laboratory hardware and instruments to support HBS Biobanking operations in a new Biocentre facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the alignment of sample processing instruments (automated stores, liquid handlers, etc.), orchestration software, and our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) solution, while advancing lab automation initiatives for enhanced efficiency and productivity as part of the HBS Platform devops team.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or relevant technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory technology or instrumentation.
- Extensive experience in configuring and troubleshooting lab hardware and scientific instruments.
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation software and its integration with lab databases and cloud systems.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and automation tools to enhance lab processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation and technical issues.
- Experience with robotic systems and lab automation technologies.
- Capability to design and implement training programs for laboratory personnel on equipment usage and safety.
- Experience with laboratory compliance and quality assurance standards.
- Excellent team collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment and to GxP validation standards
- Experience of working with third party suppliers/vendors
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Pharmaceutical Experience/understanding of the Human Biological Samples and Biobanking business domain
- Lean SIGMA training
