Despite great strides in the treatment and understanding of blood cancers in recent years, there remain critical unmet needs for this diverse and complex family of diseases. These significant gaps in treating and caring for patients with blood cancer are why AstraZeneca is committed to help transform the haematologic cancer care experience. We have an exciting opportunity to work in the Global Haematology & Cell Therapy Franchise as the Global Marketing Lead – CAR-T. This role works collaboratively across the key global country and regional leads based in the US, Europe as well as wide range of headquarter functions including Global Analytics & Insights (GA&I), Digital, Pricing and Market Access, Global Medical Affairs (GMA), Regulatory affairs, R&D, Product development, and others.

Key responsibilities:

  • Global Cell Therapy Commercial Strategy: Build and lead end‑to‑end global commercial cell‑therapy delivery for community sites—define market‑shaping strategies, map and optimize patient journeys, and operationalize best practices. Forge partnerships across the ecosystem to co-create innovative solutions that expand patient access and streamline care pathways. Orchestrate tight cross‑functional execution with Access, Medical, CMC/Manufacturing, Digital, and Supply Chain; set clear objectives, KPIs, and accountabilities to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Capability Building and Alignment: Align cell therapy capability build with core brand objectives and KPIs; translate strategy into executable plans with internal partners. Define and execute community site activation and delivery plans, including readiness criteria, training, and performance tracking. Deliver robust ordering and operations processes (e.g., slot management, COI/COC, logistics) in collaboration with supply chain and patient ops team to ensure efficient, reliable product delivery to treatment sites.
  • Co-Creation and Collaboration: Drive the creation of the delivery models in partnership with a global cross-functional team (Digital, IT, US patient support teams. Identify appropriate external partnerships to support delivery of cell therapy and improving access to patients in the community setting.
  • Seek and secure endorsement from the Global Brand Team (GBT) to ensure alignment and support for initiatives. Collaborate with markets to define the optimal model for Community cell therapy delivery.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within the commercial team, assisting other departments and markets in effectively communicating the strategy, tactical approach, and launch playbook to ensure diverse audiences.
  • Promote the continuous development of insights by collaborating with GA&I and engaging with cell therapy experts, nurse navigators, and community healthcare professionals. Utilize these insights to refine the cell therapy delivery strategy and its implementation.
  • Seamless customer experience: Continuously assess and challenge the cell therapy programs to ensure the capabilities are differentiated vs competition and supports superior customer experience for patients and sites. Track progress against KPIs (e.g.  and prepare performance reports.
  • Define and oversee the marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation to meet objectives.
  • Remain informed about industry trends and best practices, identifying innovative marketing opportunities and strategies.
  • Maintain brand consistency and integrity across all marketing channels and communications.

Requirements

  • A proven leader who champions innovation and excels at executing to achieve market results
  • Minimum of 10+ years in the pharmaceutical sector
  • Firsthand knowledge of working with current academic and community based CAR T treatment centres
  • Extensive and in-depth experience of the CAR-T treatment ecosystem
  • Product Knowledge is a must: CAR-T and / or Cell & Gene Therapy
  • Understanding of the US Community landscape and distribution channels
  • Translates reimbursement and payment model insights into actionable strategies that unlock access in key markets
  • Broad global commercial experience including pre-launch and launch.
  • Disease Knowledge: must have worked in at least in one or more of the following disease areas; MM, DLBCL, FL, CLL, or ALL
  • Proven experience and knowledge of a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payers, and providers.
  • Demonstrated use of insights to deliver effective strategy.
  • Evidence of developing compelling cases
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities with a high degree of autonomy
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science subject

Desirable attributes:

  • PhD, MBA
  • Experience in Haematology
  • Strong clinical competence and scientific mind-set
  • Business Insights experience

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $229,303 to $343,955. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
