The Director, Customer2030 Strategy & Deployment– Commercialwill bethe overall product ownerfor Customer2030’s sales and marketing capabilities.Reporting to the Head of Innovation & Business Planning, the role is strategically positioned to own theCusomer2030 commercialroadmap and driveadoptionofCustomer2030capabilities forUS OncologyFranchises (sales & marketing).

The role sits at the center of business transformation, AI / technology fluency, and Oncology commercialization.You will champion machine learning, GenAI, and agentic solutions that drive tangible business value.You willbe responsible forthe full lifecycle of Customer2030 capabilities, from ideation to delivery, adoption / change management, andday-to-day program management. Further, you will be the bridge between US Oncology and the broader AZ enterprise for customer engagement capability building.

Responsibilities include:

Program strategy 

  • Own the strategy and transformation roadmap for Customer2030commercial capabilities,overseeingplanning and budget managementprocesses

  • Developquantifiablebusiness cases and value narrativesfor the next horizons ofsales and marketingcapabilitiesin collaboration with US Oncology Franchisesand technical delivery teams

  • Support engagement withthe US Oncology Leadership team (OLT) to ensure top-down alignmenton the AI roadmapand co-creationonkeycapabilitydesign choices

  • Track industry, market,and innovation shifts toanticipateopportunities and risks

  • Define KPIs and monitoring to evaluate progress and pivot when needed

Capability building and change management 

  • Drive the thought leadershipthat shapes howsales and marketingcapabilities are built,optimizingforsolutions that solvekey business needsthat are alsoscalable/sustainable

  • Identifypeople and process changesrequiredtosuccessfully stand-upCustomer2030sales and marketingcapabilities, and ensure these are acted on in coordination with AI product construction / delivery

  • Act as change leader,delivering theCustomer2030 narrativefor sales and marketing teams, alsopartnering with Business Excellence and Franchise teams on the training plan

Execution excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day program managementfor sales and marketing capabilities,ensuring high fidelity between the Customer2030 vision/roadmapand what is executed

  • Ensureaccurateandtimelytranslation of business needs into technical requirements in partnership with Enterprise AI (data science)

  • Approve scope and release of major AI updates

  • Trackprogressand surfaceinterdependencies,creativelyaddressingkey challenges and blockersand escalating to senior leadership as necessary

Qualificationsfor the Role: 

Minimumrequirements:

  • At least5years professional experienceas either a strategy consultant or pharma company employee, with a meaningfulportionof that time leading digital / AI transformations for a pharma commercial function

  • Strong analyticalfluency, able to translate between brand strategy, pharma commercial data sets, andappropriate analyticalmethods

  • Exceptionalcommunication skillsand the ability tooperatesuccessfully in highly matrixed organizations

  • Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills with consultative approach and ability to interact and build trust

  • Operational effectiveness, highly organized process with follow through

  • Strong initiative to understand our core business goals andestablishprocesses or programs to set direction, generate alignment and push forward

  • Resourceful, motivated,influentialand proactive; able to prioritize in a fast-growing organization

Preferred requirements:

  • Graduate degree (MBA, Masters,MDor PhD preferred)

  • At least 2yearsexperiencewith a top-tier strategy consulting firm or investment bank

  • Demonstrated commercial experience in Oncology

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $151,476.00 - $227,214.00 USD.  Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
