Device & Primary Container Testing Summer Intern

We are seeking undergraduate sophomore and junior students working towards a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field for a 12-week internship with 1 opening in Gaithersburg, MD for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.

Position Duties:

  • Assess and develop measurements for unique or novel container and device technologies for device delivery.

  • Conduct characterization experiments for device and container functionality attributes including mechanical and optical methods.

  • Analyze and present data collected to inform conclusions or recommendations for further experimentation related to container selection and device functionality.

  • Write work instructions for methods related to device and primary container testing.

Position Requirements:

  • Undergraduate sophomore and junior students working towards a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field. *Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.

  • Labwork experience, including that from coursework, is required.

  • Experience operating universal mechanical test machines, microscopes, or similar is a plus.

  • Data analysis experience using software like Excel, JMP, or Minitab is preferred.

  • Mechanical design skills and prior use of CAD software such as SolidWorks is a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft applications including SharePoint and PowerBI is a plus.

  • Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.

  • US Work Authorization is required at time of application.

  • Ability to report onsite to Gaithersburg, MD 5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance.

  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
