Associate Director, Medical Diagnostics – Lung Cancer

Associate Director, Medical Diagnostics- Lung Cancerreports into Senior Director, Medical Diagnostics –Lung Cancer andis a qualified individualwho has a history ofdiagnostic industry experience and/or clinical pathology experience in oncology. Contributing to the medical guidance for lung cancer biomarkers and diagnostics,the incumbent will work within the USMA Lung Medical Diagnostics teamto support the development, monitoring,and delivery of strategic plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes toestablishingand implementingscientific imperatives, narratives,andstrategies for precision oncology launchesto ensure medical and scientific accuracy.

  • Support the Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR) by coordinating and tracking pre-launch activities and ensuretimelyexecution of the endorsed LRR planin coordination with Lung Franchise Medical Leads/Directors. 

  • Either as an expert or project manager(depending ondepth ofexpertise), develops and refines processes for approvingdiagnosticsmaterials

  • SupportsSr Director andRegional Directors, Lung Medical Diagnosticsin synthesizingrecurringfield insights reports

  • Provide support on AdvisoryBoards forexecution including communications, collaborating with internal and external customers and discussion guide/content.

  • With support from the Medical Lead, coordinate the external expert engagement with HQ and theappropriate identificationof Key External Experts.

  • Accountable for ensuring scientific and medical accuracy of outgoing materials, researchprotocols, and external publications. 

  • Ensures own knowledge of protocols and new relevant developments are up to date

  • Responsible to adhering to allrequiredethical and compliance standards asdeterminedby the organization and/or market within therolethatoperates.

  • Supports cross-functional medical coordination and follow-up on deliverables fromdifferent functions.

  • Provide congress support by contributing to the congress planning playbook.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced Medical/Scientific degree(Masters or Doctorate)

  • Strong business acumen, including an understanding of drivers behind evolving diagnostic and pathology landscape.

  • 2+ year ofexperiencein diagnostics and/orpharmaceuticalindustry, ideally in medical affairs (field or HQ)

PreferredQualifications:

  • Doctorate scientific or medical degree(MD, PharmDorPhD)

  • 3+ years of combined experience in oncology (clinical or research oncology) in industry or academic settings, ideally related to diagnostics and biomarkers.

  • Understanding of diagnostic FDA environment; ideally, hands-on experience working in clinical laboratories (CAP/CLIA lab work experience)supporting oncology testing. 

  • Proven experience in use ofimmunohistochemistry technologies and digital pathology tools in the development of AI-drive image analysis algorithms. 

  • Experiencewith development, application, and evidence generation planning of novel biomarkers or diagnostics platforms (e.g. liquid biopsy,novel AGA detections)

  • Track recordof effective management of internal and external decision-making bodies and governance involving cross functional partners. 

  • Proventrack recordof project management experience in industry. 

  • Knowledge and experience in medical strategy/affairswith emphasis indiagnosticslaunches.

Compensation Information:
The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $175,000 - $230,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility toparticipatein our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coveragein accordance withthe terms and conditions of the applicable plans.Additionaldetails of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
