Job Title: Senior Sourcing Specialist Secondary Packaging

Introduction to role:
Are you ready to lead the charge in strategic sourcing for packaging components? Senior Sourcing Specialist reports to Associate Director of Global Strategic Sourcing, reducing costs and offering customer service. This crucial role supports Alexion’s Packaging Operations in Dublin, Ireland, where your critical thinking and negotiation skills will shine!

Accountabilities:
Sourcing/Negotiation
- Lead sourcing initiatives for all Packaging Components at the Dublin Packaging facility.
- Manage MRP and purchasing data in SAP daily/weekly to ensure timely procurement for production schedules.
- Collaborate with Operations to maintain adequate safety stock and manage material expiry of secondary packaging components.
- Monitor market trends to support internal customers effectively.
- Guide cross-functional teams through sourcing and procurement processes.
- Proactively resolve supplier issues to prevent production impacts, such as invoice queries and quality concerns.
- Negotiate financial terms, risk management, and other conditions with suppliers.
- Identify supply sources and cultivate strong supplier relationships.
- Assist internal clients in developing and enforcing compliance with supplier Service Level Agreements; manage and measure supplier performance.
- Ensure robust Supplier Management Process with internal customers.
- Coordinate between Alexion Artwork team and Suppliers for new color standards approval for New Product Launches.
- Collaborate with clinical team for stock transfer of clinical materials to Alexion Dublin.
- Ensure adherence to timelines supporting NPIs for Finished Product in new countries.

Business Partnership
- Manage multi-location business relationships and collaborate with colleagues at the Dublin facility to maximize value and synergy in Supplier Management.
- Optimize vendor base and services in collaboration with business partners and Procurement colleagues.
- Work with Financial Planning & Analysis team and business unit specialists to gather budget forecasts, supporting sourcing plans and driving suppliers towards value and continuous improvement.
- Support Ireland manufacturing operations when required.

Leadership
- Educate end-users on Procurement policies, procedures, and processes through daily interactions and defined training programs.
- Actively develop and manage vendor performance using key performance indicators, scorecard development, business reviews, and effective contract change/dispute management processes.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in diverse purchasing areas preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead the implementation of Strategic Sourcing projects.
- Procurement Sourcing experience in a pharmaceutical/manufacturing environment and Distribution operation highly desirable.
- Category area experience in Packaging Components spend areas noted above, with strong focus and demonstrated success in sourcing these components.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
- English is mandatory.
- Service Orientation, rigor, reliability, good professional maturity.
- Operational SAP or similar system desirable.
- Adaptability to a multicultural environment, valuing diversity within a virtual global team.
