This is what you will do:

The MSAT Scientist, Analytical will be a key member of the MSAT Labs at College Park.

Key activities will include:

· Supporting analytical method transfer, method qualification /verification/ validation by performing testing and generating associated documents

· Assessing new analytical technology and advancements to gain a better understanding of our products and processes

· Developing/optimising analytical methods to support MSAT studies

In this role, you will be:

· Transferring and qualifying analytical methods. Performing analytical tests and reporting results from studies performed in MS&T labs, in support of engineering and technical batches, growing process knowledge, providing recommendations, and problem solving to increase probabilities of technical success, while minimising technical risks

· Performing “sandbox” feasibility assessments of new technologies (e.g., PAT/Inline monitoring) and rapid techniques, to gain greater insights into protein chemistry and quantification methodologies, to allow for future optimisation

· Ensuring timely testing and reporting of results, with the implementation and improvement of high efficiency systems

· Providing analytical testing, which supports solving issues for manufacturing processes. Providing input into the optimisation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes in alignment with regulatory and commercial manufacturing requirements, including industry standard methodologies

· Maintaining knowledge and history of products & process analytics throughout the entire commercial lifecycle, including development history

· Analyse complex datasets, interpret results, and prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to cross-functional teams.

· The candidate must possess critical thinking skills, be entrepreneurial with an ability to integrate data and information to solve complex problems and to maintain robust and improved manufacturing processes. Effectively communicate complex ideas to audiences with varying degrees of knowledge.

· Ensure compliance with site EHS policy, cGMP and other business regulations and participate in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.

· May be required to work periodically out of normal business hours or participate in weekend rota to support ongoing lab studies.

You will need to have:

· Degree in Life sciences, chemistry, analytical, or engineering subject area with experience in (bio)pharmaceutical manufacturing/ development/process engineering/method development/testing

o PhD or M.Sc with > 3 years of experience

· Previous experience and technical knowledge of analytical methodologies on biologicals in either research or biopharmaceutical manufacturing roles in Technical, R&D, or Process Development/Optimisation

· Previous hands-on experience of Bio-analytical techniques and methodologies for biologicals

· Previous experience with analytical method development and optimisation

· Proven knowledge of cGMP/GLP requirements and implementation of standard methodologies to ensure technical excellence

· Ability to travel up to 10%

· The duties of this role are generally conducted in a lab environment.
