HR Business Partner AstraZeneca APICOM

This HR Business Partner role supports the APICOM site in Ireland on a 12‑month basis, working closely with the local Ireland HR team, Global HR Business Partner, Solutions Partner and HR Centres of Expertise to build and shape a new team. Accountabilities
This role partners with APICOM site leadership and HR colleagues to design and embed effective people practices that enable a safe, efficient and sustainable operation. It establishes a clear engagement model between leaders and HR teams, ensuring consistent ways of working across the Ireland campus. It drives adoption of manager and employee self-service, creating practical tools tailored to shift-based operations. Working with Talent Acquisition, it shapes recruitment strategies, value propositions and local market approaches that attract the right talent for a rapidly evolving site. It validates spans of control and shift leadership layers, clarifying reporting lines, escalation routes and handovers between shifts. It guides talent and succession planning, identifying interim coverage and successors for key roles while aligning development pathways with learning plans. It coaches and challenges people managers on complex HR issues, minimising risk and ensuring compliance with global employment laws and company policies. It aligns HR solutions with global frameworks in areas such as organisational efficiency, change management, engagement, workforce transitions and performance management. It partners with Reward on grading, market benchmarks, shift premiums and performance-linked bonuses, ensuring internal equity across shifts and enabling manager self-service with robust audit trails. Throughout the transition from project to operations, it supports leaders and employees through change, helping the site embed Lean and sustainable practices that contribute to AstraZeneca’s ambition to eliminate emissions from operations by 2025.
Essential Skills/Experience
o Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
o Minimum 8/10 years HR experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments
o Proven track record in mentoring senior leaders; expertise in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
o Knowledge of Irish HR policies and regulations.
o Experience working in Pharma/manufacturing/start-up operations.
o Able to engage with and influence stakeholders at different levels throughout the organization
o Technical HR knowledge/ skills associated one or more of the following areas – Talent Acquisition, Performance & Reward, Employee Relations, L&D, Organizational Change
Desirable Skills/Experience
o Masters in HR, Organizational Development or Business Administration
o Experience in scaling organizations during rapid growth
