AstraZeneca’s Dublin College Park site is at the centre of our Finished Packaging (FP) activities, supporting a rapidly expanding portfolio, including five key products and several major new product launches planned between now and 2030.

We are seeking a Finished Packaging Production Planner to support business and change planning on our pharmaceutical packaging lines. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, can see the bigger picture, and is motivated by influencing long‑term commercial and operational strategy.

What you’ll do

As a Finished Packaging Production Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth execution of operations while preparing the business for future growth. You’ll be responsible for both day‑to‑day planning activities and contributing to strategic product and capacity initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing production planning and order management for Finished Packaging through SAP and related ERP systems
  • Supporting commercial and operational planning for five key Alexion products
  • Contributing to long‑range planning for new product launches toward the 2030 vision
  • Acting as the first decision-maker for technical or scheduling issues using troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Providing guidance to cross‑functional collaborators on scheduling, priorities and resource optimisation
  • Preparing analysis, reports and planning documentation to support business cases, quality investigations and improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring effective coordination across manufacturing, packaging, supply chain, engineering and quality teams
  • Supporting the introduction and learning of the AZ OMP Scheduling Solution (internal tool)
  • Leading knowledge sharing, standardisation and continuous improvement activities
  • Ensuring compliance with GMP, Health & Safety and quality procedures
  • Supporting ongoing change initiatives across the packaging organisation
  • Proactively driving personal planning projects and owning workstreams end‑to‑end

You will be joining a 5‑person team, with this role representing the team’s newest headcount.

What success looks like (6–12 months in)

✅ Fully embedded within the packaging planning team
✅ Independently managing FP planning cycles and SAP order management
✅ Able to anticipate commercial and operational impacts and adjust plans accordingly
✅ Supporting new product introduction projects and SAP/OMP improvements
✅ Demonstrating agility, strong communication and autonomous project delivery
✅ Seen as a key connector across multiple functions

Essential skills & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) or working toward a relevant qualification
  • Experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Experience with SAP and ERP systems (order management, planning, MRP)
  • Ability to analyse data, create reports and translate demand into deliverable plans
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive personal project workstreams

Desirable

  • Experience with MRP processes and campaign planning
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA (transition planned)
  • Experience with forecasting, financial scheduling or production sequencing
  • Previous experience in GMP or regulated industries
  • Analytical profile suitable for reporting and planning optimisation
