ROLE SUMMARY
The Nominated Signatory & Medical Information Manager for the Gulf countries cluster (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Pakistan) is a certified nominated signatory accountable for the review and approval of promotional and non‑promotional materials and activities, as well as HCP/HCO and patient engagements within assigned therapy areas. The role oversees and champions Medical Information, ensuring compliant, accurate, and timely responses across AstraZeneca brands. It requires in‑depth knowledge of the AZ Code of Ethics, global standards, local policies and procedures, and applicable industry codes and regulations to enable consistent, evidence‑based, scientifically accurate, and patient‑centric outcomes.
Reporting to the Medical Governance and Operations Associate Director, the Nominated Signatory & Medical Information Manager executes the governance vision and supports monitoring, audits, and inspections. The role implements training across assigned therapy areas, and drives continuous improvement of medical processes, including the SOP lifecycle.
The role models the AZ value of “Doing the right thing” and demands strong command of global and local standards, applicable laws, regulations, and industry codes. The role requires sound judgement, operational governance, hands-on proficiency with AZ systems, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with different functions across the enterprise
What you’ll do
- Review and approve promotional and non‑promotional materials and activities, HCP/ HCO and patient engagements for assigned therapy areas in accordance with AZ Code of Ethics, global standards, local policies, and applicable industry codes and regulations.
- Oversee and champion Medical Information across the Gulf to ensure compliant, accurate, timely, and fair‑balanced responses to unsolicited medical inquiries from HCPs across AZ brands.
- Contribute to audit and inspection readiness and support in CAPA development and timely closure.
- Execute the Medical Governance and Operations vision for assigned therapy areas and contribute to policy/SOP lifecycle management, process improvements, and simplification initiatives.
- Plan and deliver governance and SOP training for stakeholders in assigned therapy areas (Medical, Marketing, Sales, etc.)
Essential for the role
- Bachelor's degree in medicine or pharmacy required
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Industry. Medical Affairs role including experience in compliance and/ or nominated signatory role and knowledge of relevant AZ therapy areas is an advantage
- Strong understanding of Gulf countries cluster pharmaceutical governing framework, laws and requirements
- Strong knowledge of Code of Ethics, Ethical Interaction standards, and other global standards and policies and pharmaceutical industry codes and legislations.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix cross-functional environment.
- Extensive experience and proven track record in relationship and stakeholder management
- Fluency in English

- Is a certified Nominated Signatory
- Experience in cross-functional relationships and stakeholder management
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with AE reporting processes, privacy (PIA), and digital/IT risk processes (RID)
