At AstraZeneca, we are looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs team in the Andean Cluster. In this role, you will serve as the field‑based scientific expert responsible for executing medical plans for pre‑launch and newly launched products, driving scientific excellence, equitable access, and better outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a field‑based scientific expert, developing and strengthening relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs), medical specialists, investigators, and other stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Engage in clinical and scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals and non‑traditional stakeholders, ensuring evidence‑based discussions aligned with AstraZeneca’s medical objectives.
  • Maintain deep and up‑to‑date knowledge of diseases within the assigned therapeutic area, the clinical landscape, and AstraZeneca’s pipeline and marketed products.
  • Provide solid, balanced, and updated scientific, technical, and pharmacoeconomic information, promoting the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Organize and facilitate scientific events (symposia, advisory boards, scientific exchanges, MSL meetings, etc.) in collaboration with internal and external experts.
  • Participate in the generation of local evidence, support clinical studies, and collaborate on scientific publications.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate scientific insights and medical ecosystem trends to support medical strategy development and patient‑centered solutions.
  • Leverage digital tools and innovative technologies to optimize scientific exchange and stakeholder experience.
  • Ensure compliance with global medical standards, local regulations, and AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in health sciences or a scientific discipline (e.g., Physician, Pharmacist, Biologist).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead high‑level scientific discussions.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and conceptual thinking.
  • Experience in project management, scientific presentations, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Strong digital capabilities: Teams, Copilot, AZChatGPT, PowerPoint, Power BI.
