Alliance Manager

The Alliance Manager is responsible for orchestrating and maximizing the value of strategic partnerships across the full alliance lifecycle, connecting business goals, compliance, and operational execution to accelerate outcomes across AstraZeneca Brazil’s therapeutic areas. The role spans alliance model design and integration planning through joint governance, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and scope evolution, including co-development, co-promotion, in/out-licensing, and technology partnerships.


Main Activities:
1. End-to-end alliance management: Lead the partnership lifecycle (setup, launch, execution, and close-out), ensuring robust governance, regular executive forums, and agile joint decision-making.
2. Therapy area champion: Serve as the focal point for alliances in assigned therapy areas, driving joint plans and cultivating a pipeline of shared-value initiatives.
3. Planning and frameworks: Implement and maintain alliance management tools (charters, RACIs, KPI scorecards, SLAs, escalation playbooks), fostering a collaboration mindset and results focus.
4. Multi-level alignment: Ensure priority alignment among local, regional, and global teams (business and operations), linking alliance objectives to commercial, medical, and access goals.
5. Integration and compliance: Engage internal teams (including outside Brazil) to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and compliance best practices, including pharmacovigilance and data governance.
6. Performance management: Define KPIs and OKRs, track deliverables, run QBRs/IBRs with partners, analyze risks and opportunities, and lead remediation plans.
7. Alliance finance: Support financial tracking models (royalties, milestones, rate cards), forecasts, and reconciliations in coordination with Finance and Controllership.
8. Conflict resolution: Anticipate and mitigate operational tensions, establish escalation and mediation mechanisms while preserving the relationship and shared objectives.
9. Market mapping and competitive intelligence: Monitor sector dynamics and partnership benchmarks to inform portfolio strategy and agreement evolution.
10. Executive communication: Prepare narratives and materials for governance committees, senior leadership, and partners, ensuring transparency and communication cadence.


Mandatory requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.
● Knowledge of Brazilian healthcare dynamics, particularly the private market (retail channel, private hospitals, payers/insurers, PBMs).
● Proven experience in alliance/partnership management or business development in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with a track record in execution and governance.
● Fluency in opportunity assessment, basic deal financials (milestones, royalties, co-funding), and partnership performance indicators.
● Advanced English with strong engagement skills for global stakeholders.
● Experience with planning tools and project frameworks (RACI, OKRs, PMO, risk management).


Preferred requirements:
● Advanced Spanish for regional partner interactions.
● Experience in strategic consulting (e.g., top-tier global firms) or in Alliance Management within multinational companies.
● Certifications or training in Alliance Management (e.g., ASAP—Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals), Project Management (PMP/Prince2), or Agile (Scrum/SAFe).
● Familiarity with data and technology partnerships (real-world evidence, digital platforms, AI/ML) applied to pharma.
