Job Title: Senior Consultant - SAP ESG and SAP EHS

Introduction to role:
Turn your expertise into measurable impact for patients and the planet! Based in Chennai, this role shapes how we measure, handle, and report sustainability and safety across our global operations, directly supporting the development and delivery of life‑changing medicines.
You will join inclusive, cross‑functional teams that pair scientific rigor with leading digital platforms to build scalable solutions. Do you thrive on translating complex requirements into elegant configurations that enable accurate footprints, compliant labeling, and clear decision‑making at enterprise scale?
Accountabilities:
ESG Solution Design and Delivery: Architect and deliver configurations for SAP Sustainability Footprint Management (SFM) and SAP Sustainability Control Tower (SCT) that enable detailed footprint calculations, Key Performance Indicators tracking, and regulatory reporting aligned to CSRD, GRI, EU Taxonomy, and GHG standards.
Business Process Alignment: Partner with business collaborators to build processes that align to SAP standard functionality, converting real‑world needs into robust designs and enhancements that drive transparency and efficiency.
Lead the process of acquiring and exchanging data for sustainability. Develop inbound and outbound APIs. Coordinate integrations with SAP S/4HANA and SAP CPI to ensure reliable, end-to-end data flows.
EHS and GLM Excellence: Enable compliant product safety, management of dangerous goods, and global labeling by owning SAP EHS and Global Label Management capabilities, WWI architecture, and label printing at scale.
Validated Delivery and Compliance: Embed GxP and SOX controls in WoW, operate in validated environments, and set standards that safeguard quality and audit readiness.
Continuous Improvement and Support: Own application management for ESG/EHS solutions, drive improvements, and deliver lifecycle updates including SERC content and expert rules, moving from quick wins to long‑term value.
Cross‑Functional Teamwork: Work across regions and partners, communicate in both business and technology terms, and present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Sharing insights and Coaching: Document effective methods, mentor peers, and improve ESG/EHS delivery through repeatable patterns and trusted mentorship.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Good understanding of SAP ESG solutions – SFM and SCT
Knowledge in SAP SFM covering Manage Source Data, Facilities, Business Activities, Transport Footprints, Emission Factor Management, Footprint Calculation, Analyse & Publish Footprints
Knowledge in SAP SCT covering Data Sourcing and Collection, Sustainability Metrics and Key Performance Indicators Management based on standards like CSRD, GRI, EU Taxonomy & GHG and analytics & reporting.
Solid grasp of process configuration and inbound/outbound APIs for SFM and SCT.
Knowledge in Data migration and Sustainability Data Exchange.
Expertise in SFM/SCT integrations with SAP S/4HANA (MM, SD, FI, TM, PP) and SAP CPI.
Good understanding of SAP EHS Module and Business processes.
Knowledge of WWI server configuration, printer setup, and label printing architecture using SAP GLM (Global Label Management)
Solid understanding of GLM or equivalent experience integration with cross-functional modules such as SD, PP, WM/EWM, and QM.
Implementation experience in performing SERC updates, configuring expert rules, setting up property trees & content data, and enabling phrase integration from third-party vendor tools into SAP.
Good understanding of GXP and SOX requirements. Should have working experience in a validated environment.
Strong collaborator able to work across the program team, communicate in Business & IT terms and work independently.
Worked in a hybrid environment with a mix of internal and external resources across geographical locations.
Good Presentation skills.
Graduate or Postgraduate from reputed University
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Certification in SAP S/4HANA ESG (SFM & SCT)
Hands-on experience with SAP Solution Manager, including Focused Build.
