The Associate Business Search Analyst is accountable for analysing requirements, usage patterns, index structures to develop and ensure the quality and services of the Search platform.   This includes analysis of the search indexes to ensure the platform and content is compliant to Astrazeneca standards with respect to data access and transfer.   They operate as part of the Enterprise Data Office in the Search Optimisation Team working closely with search engineers, KM product owner(s), other analysts, data governance roles and search consuming groups

Context:

• The Search Optimisation Group are accountable for analysing, monitoring and improving the findability of information and data across the Company.

• The role will work with customers across the business to understand and analyse the root cause of information findability issues when using the enterprise search tools. Many of these issues are of an information management nature.

• This involves analysis of search statistics and metrics, user feedback and interactions, business initiatives and strategies to understand and provide recommendations to improve findability in the search-based applications that are supported by Software Shared Services.

• The role is responsible for mentoring Search Optimisation Engineers in Chennai in the information and data landscape across the organisation and the Good Information Practice challenges associated with that in order for quick and enduring resolution to findability issues.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements for enterprise search and related AI solutions.

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of business requirements, search workflows, and user scenarios.

  • Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for Enterprise search and generative AI applications and platforms.

  • Analyze search performance metrics and user behavior to identify areas for improvement in enterprise search solutions.

  • Monitor and report on the performance of search solutions, providing insights and recommendations for further improvement.

  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of search technologies and AI tools and tools to meet business needs.

  • Support the implementation and adoption of best practices for enterprise search and AI across the Organization.

  • Recommending enhancements, improvements to the search architecture, awareness and education deliverables for the business that will seek the root causes of findability issues.

  • This would include identifying content quality issues and running content quality assurance processes to monitor and highlight areas of risk to the business.

  • Improving the search skills of staff across the Company through communication and awareness activities in support of Enterprise Search solutions.

  • Engage with IT and Business Stakeholders to drive improvement of existing measures through analysis of ticket and survey data, observing customer experience issues and opportunities for improving value for money / return on investment

  • Engage with Information and Data Governance groups with evidence and facts to support their endeavours, such as GDPR, eDiscovery, Data Privacy.

  • Engage with Search and Taxonomy Architects and Search Engineers to ensure understanding of IM problems so that they can improve technical configurations of the search platform.

  • Create, handle and run metrics dashboards that provide Senior Leaders and Key Stakeholders with information on the performance of Enterprise Search tools.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Relevant Degree (science, maths, engineering, information management for data science) with minimum 6 years of experience as Business Analyst

  • Excellent level of knowledge and experience in information / data governance and Information Management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. As a business analysts need to be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, as well as with technical teams. This includes the ability to document requirements, do gap analysis, publish workplace communications etc.,

  • Data Domain understanding: Understanding of the structure, provenance and meaning of the source data crucial to the domain (eg. SAP for Finance, IMS for GPPS).

  • Excellent data handling skills (Excel, VBA, SQL) and office skills like powerpoint presentations etc.,

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, facilitate meetings, and build consensus among stakeholders, are highly valued.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.

Desirable

  • Masters Degree in relevant quantitative discipline

  • Specific pharmaceutical industry experience

  • Experience in complex global organizations
