Job Title:Lead Consultant - Business Analyst – Enterprise Planning & Management Reporting (EPMR)

The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.
The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes. This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Planning & Management Reporting (EPMR) team. This role is responsible for enabling end-to-end enterprise planning, analytics, and reporting across Finance, Commercial, Operations, and Workforce functions. The BA will work closely with partners to translate business requirements into planning solutions, drive data-driven insights, and ensure seamless integration of SAP and non-SAP systems through SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
What you’ll do
1. Enterprise Planning & Reporting
- Support end-to-end planning cycles including Annual Operating Plan, Mid Term Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting.
- Deliver plan vs actual analytics across P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow.
- Enable Management Business Reviews through automated dashboards and insights in SAC.
2. Financial Process Analytics
- Revenue: Volume forecasting, Gross to Net analysis, Gross Magin, and price-volume impact reporting.
- OPEX (Non-MP): Direct brand and non-brand cost planning, allocations, and variance analysis.
- COGS: Product costing, phased budgeting, inventory position planning, and provisions/write-off planning.
- R&D: Planning and reporting for science units and project-based costs.
- CAPEX: Planning and monitoring project and enterprise-level capital expenditures.
- Cash Flow: Indirect and direct cash flow analytics, integrating investing and financing forecasts.
- Group Reporting: Consolidation, statutory reconciliation, and enterprise-level management reporting.
3. Commercial & Operational Analytics
- Product cost and pricing analysis for decision support.
- Operating performance metrics to support supply chain, production volume, and market demand planning.
- Workforce and labour cost planning at cost centre and employee level with integrated HR data.
4. Systems, Data Integration & Reporting
- Work with SAP S/4HANA (ACDOCA, ACDOCP, ACDOCU and MASTER DATA tables) and non-SAP tools.
- Build, maintain, and reconcile planning and reporting datasets in SAC for product costing, revenue, OPEX, workforce, CAPEX, and financial statements.
- Ensure harmonization of plan, actual, and forecast data across multiple source systems.
- Collaborate with IT for data governance, system automation, and process optimization.
5. Advanced Analytics & Insights
- Create dashboards, KPIs, and scenario models in SAC to support leadership decision-making.
- Conduct variance analysis, trend insights, and predictive forecasting.
- Drive continuous improvement in enterprise planning, reporting, and analytics processes.
Essential for the role
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning, management reporting, and analytics.
- Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and integration with non-SAP data sources.
- Solid understanding of group reporting, and statutory reconciliation.
- Advanced Excel, data modelling skills to use SAC and Non SAC plugins to Excel.
- Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights for business partners.
Desirable for the role
- Experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or consumer goods industries.
- Knowledge of EPMR processes and enterprise planning cycles.
- Strong customer management and multi-functional collaboration skills.
- Diligent, analytical attitude with a problem-solving approach.
