Job Title: Engineer - Fullstack

Introduction to role:

Are you ready to build resilient, cloud-native Java services and intuitive React applications that speed the delivery of life-changing medicines to patients? This role sits at the heart of our digital products, where strong engineering meets real-world impact for colleagues across research, manufacturing, and commercial operations.

In this team you will deliver features end to end with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, React (TypeScript), and SQL, collaborating closely with architects and platform engineers who are advancing our cloud and AI capabilities. Do you want to see your code power decisions at scale and transform how our colleagues work every day?

You will start by owning well-scoped stories and quickly grow into developing reviews, performance tuning, and automation that improve quality and speed across multiple applications.

Accountabilities:

  • Full-stack Delivery: Develop, validate, and ship features across Java/Spring Boot services and React (TypeScript) UIs that streamline critical workflows and unlock clear efficiency improvements.

  • Invent, develop, and improve REST APIs. Apply strong relational database skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL) to maintain reliable data, performance, and secure integrations for internal consumers.

  • Architecture Alignment: Participate in technical design reviews; translate enterprise architecture, security, and regulatory standards into practical, maintainable solutions.

  • Quality and Testing: Build and maintain robust test plans; apply unit and component testing tools (including frameworks like Jest) to protect quality and enable continuous integration.

  • Cloud-native Engineering: Containerize and deploy with Docker and Kubernetes; define infrastructure with Terraform and YAML to achieve repeatable, scalable environments.

  • Agile Collaboration: Work within a distributed Scrum team, partnering with engineers, architects, project managers, platform teams, vendors, and customers to deliver increments that matter.

  • Operations and Deployment: Complete deployments to application servers; solve issues; improve reliability through monitoring, automation, and well-documented runbooks.

  • Continuous Improvement and Automation: Identify and validate automation opportunities across build, test, and operations; evaluate new tools and methods that improve efficiency and developer experience.

  • AI and Data Enablement: Experiment with modern AI services and LLM techniques, such as vector-based similarity, to unlock smarter features where appropriate.

  • Growth and Impact: Start by delivering high-quality code and documentation; progress to crafting guidelines and influencing multiple applications and services.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • 4+ years of Overall IT experience

  • Should have practical experience in Java/JS coding, Advanced JAVA concepts, Spring Boot, REACT, J2EE, Webservices, Oracle, Postgres, SQL

  • Over 3 years working with ReactJs using Typescripts

  • Over 5 years involved in developing REST API’s

  • Over 3 years of experience working with RDBMS and solid hands-on skills in SQL queries

  • Actively involved in any of the UI frameworks such as Jest etc.

  • Good exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, YAML

  • Should have worked in distributed agile model and continuous integration

  • Carrying out deployment into application servers

  • Analytical skills with attention to detail in quality

  • Demonstrate ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups and applications

  • Good communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work with global teams to achieve objectives, collaborative

  • Ability to create, maintain and implement test plans

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meets deadlines, and work independently

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology & information systems, or comparable specialization with 2+ years of relevant experience; Experience with software development languages and patterns/ testing phases, types, and techniques; Experience in scrum teams, agile software development techniques and methodologies, and programming languages, as applicable to own area; Experience with cloud platforms, data analytics, and SQL knowledge as applicable to own area; Experience with relevant technologies/ systems/ concepts as applicable within area (e.g., deployment of platforms like Docker, SaaS; web & mobile application design, software testing & maintenance).

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge in python is added advantage

  • 3+ years of experience on python with exposure to flask

  • Good to have experience in working with Azure Open AI, LLM exposure in areas such as vectors, similarity search using extract, similarity/confidence score etc.

  • Good to have Exposure to AWS Sage Maker

  • Desirable: Prior experience in an information services/ information technology environment with understanding of service delivery KPIs (e.g., SLA; MTR); Experience working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
