Job Purpose:- Leading the local medical strategy, plans and its execution for assigned Oncology TA across NEMAG countries.
- Responsible for setting Oncology Medical Strategies & Plans aiming at disseminating latest scientific evidence and improving patients’ lives in the TAs in different NEMAG Countries in alignment with Global / regional TA strategies as applicable.
- Responsible for effective & timely execution of the medical plans.
- Uses scientific expertise to contribute to the marketing direction of the brands in the TA.
- Is recognized as a medical expert within the marketing company (MC) in the Oncology TA and will often guide and mentor more junior Medical Affairs colleagues.
- Enables Oncology Medical Affairs team to establish scientific leadership of AstraZeneca and build professional relationships with Key External Experts within the TA.
- Acts as a leader and manager to FMAs/MSLs providing coaching, support, trainings and implementing internal standards and processes.
- Works closely with the TA commercial teams in countries across NEMAG cluster including sales teams.
Medical strategy and clinical input
- Ensure Country Oncology Medical Affairs plans are effective at achieving TA Country goals; Oversee and support Country Medical staff in their execution of Oncology Brand Medical plans.
- Ensure Oncology Medical Affairs team members performance plans (including MAs/ MSLs Plans) are effective at supporting TA goals and objectives and are effective at engaging KEEs optimally.
- Drive Medically led/co-led, based initiatives, in collaboration with CFTs, that contributes to an overarching plan mapped to drive positive patient outcomes and manage the medical budget across NEMAG.
- Provide broad and deep understanding of the therapeutic area cross-functionally. Seen as credible expert by internal and external customers.
- Leverage medical expertise to design, implement, and oversee real-world evidence (RWE) projects. Identifies reliable suitable data sources and ensure the scientific rigor and integrity of real-world studies.
- Responsible for translating RWE into actionable insights that can internally inform medical and commercial strategies and externally improve patient outcomes and inform healthcare decision-making.
- Establish AstraZeneca as a scientific leader through proactive medical inputs and in collaboration with local medical societies / KEEs
- Lead educational initiatives, developing clinical support tools, and providing scientific expertise to support the integration of new medical advancements into clinical practice.
- Agile adoption of innovation through win-win partnerships within the healthcare ecosystem that are scalable and can enable sustainable patient outcomes.
- Organizes and delivers education and training to cross-functional employees to ensure scientific knowledge is kept up to date within the local organization.

Medical Governance Oversight
- Leads a team that ensures all product materials for a specific therapy area are kept up to date and accurate.
- Personally, provides expert scientific support and approval on product materials involving large or more complex drugs, or documents and reports for more important conferences/symposiums.
- Has signatory authority on outgoing therapy area materials.
- Advises the marketing team as a medical healthcare expert ensuring the medical and scientific accuracy of outgoing marketing materials.
- Ensure that all branding work is carried out in accordance with AstraZeneca standards and external regulation.
- Governance and overall adherence to processes and regulations including clinical trials, promotional activity, patient safety, etc.
