Introduction to role

Join AstraZeneca as a Market Access Director in Egypt and lead the charge in developing innovative value strategy solutions. You'll be at the forefront of articulating the critical role our medicines play in the healthcare ecosystem through a compelling value story. Collaborate with senior commercial leaders to optimize access within key sectors and set and execute the enterprise Market Access vision across AstraZeneca’s portfolio to secure timely, sustainable, and value-based access. Shape payer policy and optimize price and reimbursement outcomes aligned with AstraZeneca’s global strategy and country priorities.

Accountabilities

  • Set Portfolio Access Strategy: Define and execute market access strategies across therapy areas, aligning with AstraZeneca Egypt and global priorities.
  • Lead Pricing & Contracting: Establish pricing guardrails and innovative contracting frameworks to optimize launch and in-market value.
  • Orchestrate Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborate with Medical, Commercial, Finance, and Legal teams to secure HTA submissions, reimbursement, formulary listings, and tender wins on time.
  • Shape the External Environment: Build senior relationships with payers/HTA bodies; influence policy to enable value-based care and sustainable access models.
  • Direct Value & Evidence Strategy: Prioritize HEOR/RWE and payer value propositions to meet local requirements and accelerate positive access decisions.
  • Drive Performance & Insights: Monitor portfolio performance and course-correct using competitive and market intelligence.
  • Build Capabilities: Develop teams and external partners in access excellence; coach and empower Market Access Leads and managers.
  • Ensure Ethical Compliance: Uphold AstraZeneca’s Code of Ethics and policies; ensure transparent, compliant decision-making.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Proven track record leading access strategies
  • Strong knowledge of Egypt health systems, reimbursement models, and key payer dynamics
  • Deep understanding of different health sectors, value story demonstration, and the principles of health technology assessment (HTA)
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills with experience influencing external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives
  • People management/leadership skills

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Health Economics educational background is preferred
  • Leading complexity and decision quality
  • Business analytics & Insights
