As one of our key therapy areas within the Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit (BBU), we have a commitment to advancing cardiovascular, renal and metabolic (CVRM) treatment. The immense impacts of CVRM diseases on people, society and our planet are growing, yet these diseases remain under diagnosed, under treated and their interconnections under recognized.
Our ambition is to enhance care to improve outcomes for the millions of people who are living with the complexities of CVRM diseases, to intervene early to protect vital organs, slow or stop disease progression, and one day even cure these often debilitating, progressive and life-threatening conditions.
What you’ll do
The CVRM Communications Senior Manager will support Global Corporate Affairs to help tell the story of this therapy area internally and externally, uncovering, developing and delivering opportunities to showcase product and disease area information through milestones, events and campaigns.
The role will involve working closely with peer communicators within Global Corporate Affairs department and within regions and markets around the global, as well as leaders within the CVRM organization. You will support campaigns across digital, social and traditional media to bring the key disease area and scientific development to life. The role will importantly orchestrate or support the orchestration of our internal engagement approaches and external digital strategy.
Responsibilities
Support planning and content development for integrated internal and external communications plans to strengthen AstraZeneca’s CVRM reputation
Drive the team coordination around our comms for quarterly results
Keep our CVRM communication platforms up to date, including .com refreshes and core materials, as well as cascading/utilization within markets
Identify proactive comms opportunities based on the overall CVRM strategy
Lead our CVRM medical meeting/congress strategies and planning for effective execution at meetings around the world
Develop a strong digital and social media strategy for strategic CVRM priorities, finding opportunities and leading on content development optimized for use across AstraZeneca channels
Closely partner with teams across global corporate affairs including the global media relations and digital communications teams on relevant communications activities and find opportunities for engagement and collaboration
Support the markets to effectively communicate about CVRM’s initiatives, campaigns, milestones
Establish measures of success and implement relevant evaluation tools for KPIs across communications activities
Essential for the role
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 5 years' experience in a communications role
Experience working directly in or with the pharmaceutical industry
Established track record of supporting impactful, content rich communications across multiple channels and stakeholders with demonstrable measures of success
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
Possess a sense of urgency; is self-motivated, detail oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task
Proactive approach in resolving problems and issues
Ability to work in a global environment including understanding of cultural differences
Exemplary English written and verbal communications skills
Team worker with high level of personal accountability
Desirable for the role
Experience of working in matrix organizations across multiple teams
Experience working with senior leaders and external stakeholders
Entrepreneurial approach and desire to challenge the status quo
Strong channel management, digital skills and knowledge of technology options
Able to develop and maintain networks across business and cultural boundaries
Office Working Requirements

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $124,608.80 - 186,913.20 USD. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
