Senior Director, Clinical Data Projects

Join our Clinical Data and Insights (CDI) team, where we lead the delivery of clinical data and insights through simplification, quality by design, and collaboration. The Clinical Data Projects group provides essential program and project management support for the streamlined delivery of clinical trial data. As the Senior Director, Clinical Data Projects, you will take on complex, critical projects with multi-faceted stakeholder management needs and drive strategy at the programme level to ensure successful delivery across projects.

Accountabilities

  • Lead multiple, single or specific/niche sub-areas aligned with complex, critical projects which could include providing program level project management strategy and the development of program frameworks.

  • Oversee operational management of projects, including planning tools, programme forums, metrics, framework compliance, RAID log, reporting, finances, and project support.

  • Liaise closely with external suppliers, other Project Leads, IT Project Managers, and cross-functional colleagues across CDI, Dev Ops, R&D, and IT.

  • Understand key business areas impacted by the project(s).

  • Identify resources needed, mobilize project resources, and assign individual responsibilities.

  • Build and lead business project teams, encouraging teamwork and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.

  • Manage relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure business requirements are effectively captured and understood.

  • Lead Change Management, Communications, Training, and other elements aligned to programs, projects or within specific functional areas.

  • Create or adjust business cases for the project as required.

  • Track costs against the agreed budget and potential/realized benefits, raising any changes through the agreed framework.

  • Develop effective business processes and ensure the team adopts quality assurance procedures.

  • Identify and drive resolution of risks and issues.

Essential for the role

  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree(s) in business and/or sciences

  • 10+ years of experience with relevant Bachelor's, 7+ years of experience with relevant Masters, 5+ years of experience with relevant PhD. Professional experience should be aligned to consulting, business operations, reporting, analysis/data management.

  • Good knowledge of all functions involved with clinical trials and their key systems and processes.

  • Experience in programme/project management with a proven track record.

  • Knowledge and application of key project management principles (i.e., AGILE, PRINCE2, Lean).

  • Evidence of shaping and developing innovative solutions that have a major impact within the business area and organization.

  • Leadership skills, including the ability to solve problems involving many decision-makers and develop multiple options/recommendations.

  • Extensive networking skills with the ability to interact widely and effectively both within the company (interdepartmental and interdisciplinary) and externally.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships.

  • Demonstrated strong communication and relationship-building skills with experience in collaborating and sharing knowledge between teams.
