Global Project Leader Respiratory
We have an exciting opportunity to join Respiratory & Immunology (R&I) as a Global Product Leader (GPL)for an asset in Respiratory. You’ll take on a senior leadership role including both people and project management. Your high level accountabilities are critical to the delivery of AZ business objectives and portfolio value targets. This includes leadership of a cross-functional Global Product Team (GPT) to design and deliver a successful strategy aligned to achieving the global brand strategy through the brand´s life cycle.
The role is locatedat our dynamic R&D site in Gaithersburg, US or Boston, Seaport Boulevard, MA, US.
What you’ll do
As part of developing and delivering the product strategy, you will define and drive the strategic and scientific value creation of the brand including the development path, governance approval, growth and maturity of the brand (Life Cycle Management) while integrating diverse internal and external perspectives into the process. As the lead ambassador for the product, both internally and externally, you’ll engage and consult with KEEs to establish and nurture effective partnerships and networks to establish the brand vision. The Global Product Lead will be responsible for:
Ensuring disease strategy is innovative, with a balanced focus on safety and efficacy for regulatory approval plus value for market access.
Delivering of governance-approved business cases within tolerance on time, cost and quality, working with functional management as required to resolve issues.
Delivering the Indication Target Product Profile (TPP) and Target Product Claims (TPC).
Ensuring role modelling for internal stakeholders and KEE engagement in strategy development and science cascade.
Ensuring effective and transparent risk, opportunity and issue management at strategic, tactical and operational levels.
Simplifying the complex, anticipating obstacles and barriers and working around them by integrating robust scientific, competitive intelligence, KOL and payer insights. Seeking partners and collaborators that share our passion for science.
Ensuring appropriate Governance and Compliance and protects AZ’s Rights, Data and Intellectual Property.
Managing performance with cross-functional team. Building and effectively leading high performing cross-functional teams.
Basic Qualifications:
Masters Degree
Minimum of 5 years of experience within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, including work with executive leadership.
Significant expertise in drug development processes, specifically the design of development strategies that incorporate regulatory, commercial, and external insights.
Strong business acumen, with credibility among key opinion leaders, payers, and scientific communities, with specific and relevant therapy area expertise.
Excellent communication and influencing skills at high levels with both internal and external stakeholders, simplifying complexity to drive performance and decisions.
Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating teams within a highly matrixed environment, ensuring high team effectiveness through collaboration, influence, and coaching.
Desirable for the role:
PhD and/or MD degree preferred
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $216,000 - $325,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
