At AstraZeneca, we are seeking a Medical Transformation Lead to join our Medical Affairs team in the Andean Cluster. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating Transform Care projects across therapeutic areas, impacting both hospital and primary care settings.

This position plays a key role in driving the transformation of healthcare processes by integrating innovative solutions into clinical practice, ensuring alignment with medical strategy and business objectives. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and engagement with internal teams, scientific societies, and key healthcare stakeholders to deliver sustainable impact on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management & Project Leadership

​Lead and coordinate Transform Care projects across hospital and primary care settings, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution. Act as the main point of contact between AstraZeneca, scientific societies, and healthcare providers, while ensuring full integration between field medical and office-based teams. Serve as a visible representative of Transform Care initiatives with regional and global stakeholders.

  • Strategic Project Direction

Integrate Transform Care initiatives into brand strategic plans across relevant therapeutic areas. Design, manage, and execute project objectives, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with business priorities. Analyze the current and future portfolio to identify opportunities that enhance patient care and create value for the organization, while representing AstraZeneca’s values in all interactions.

  • Planning & Healthcare Ecosystem Impact

Contribute to the development of healthcare environment strategies by collaborating with local and therapeutic area leaders to ensure early impact in clinical practice. Drive initiatives that enhance care pathways, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, and support the adoption of innovative healthcare solutions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & External Engagement

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Medical, Marketing, Sales, Access, and Diagnostics to ensure alignment and execution of transformation initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with scientific societies, healthcare professionals, and external partners to drive the success and scalability of Transform Care projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Health Sciences (Medicine, Pharmacy, or related fields).
  • Postgraduate education.
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1).
  • 3–4 years of experience in field-based roles and in process engineering or transformation projects within clinical healthcare environments.
  • Experience working with international stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience in excellence or transformation projects within field medical roles.
  • Postgraduate studies in business or executive development.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic areas and product lifecycle management.
