As a Senior Manager, Drug Project Coordinator at Alexion, part of AstraZeneca, you'll play a pivotal role in our R&D Global Portfolio and Program Management department. Collaborating closely with the R&D Global Program Manager and cross-functional teams, you'll ensure high-quality project coordination and foster efficient team execution towards project goals. Empowered as a subject matter expert, you'll support major initiatives and have the opportunity to stretch into project manager duties based on organizational needs. Are you up for the challenge?

Accountabilities:

This position plays a critical role in providing project support in partnership with the GPM, including owning the operational duties to enable optimal GPT operations, including but not limited to:
• Project team meeting logistics (e.g., project team calendar, scheduling, room bookings, logistics, slide sharing, agendas and minutes etc.).
• Information Management (e.g., SharePoint management, storing of minutes, presentations, version control of documents), according to best practices for project teams.
• Maintain and develop expertise in appropriate IT systems to ensure efficient use and provide expertise and support to resolve time-sensitive queries.
• Preparation of reports to ensure high data quality and all project information is accurately reflected in Project Management Systems (e.g., Planisware).
• Governance presentation logistics and management.
• Supporting project risk management activities.
• Communications coordination (e.g., creating and maintain project team distribution lists, onboarding materials of new project team members, and preparing monthly reports, tracking of milestones and goals).
• Proactively tracking action items to completion; identifying issues and mitigation plans early and escalating appropriately.
• Applying project management best practices in the planning, alignment, initiation, execution, control, and closing of projects.
• Partner with other project coordinators on establishing and utilizing best practices.
• Leverages technical skills and organizational knowledge to effectively get work done.
• Ability to bring others along and communicate value proposition to stakeholders across various levels and throughout the organization.
• Supports and/or leads GPPM functional initiatives.
• Able to assess organizational needs against functional objectives.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in scientific/technical discipline.
• 5+ years of direct experience in regulated healthcare project coordination, analyst or management roles, ideally in Pharmaceutical R&D drug development.
• Competency with Planisware and Microsoft applications, including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams.
• Significant attention to detail to be able to deliver high quality reporting and project insights.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced and changing environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of AI tools to drive efficiently in project operations. 
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality and accurate information and maintain accurate record of documents with attention to detail.
• Ability to format documents (.ppt, .doc, .xls, etc.) for consistent, professional appearance and experience handling sensitive information in a confidential and discrete manner.
• Must be able to exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy on behalf of the GPPM team when dealing with different levels of management.
• The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; problem solve; engage in complex and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Graduate degree.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in relevant roles.
• Direct Planisware experience strongly preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of the Drug Development process.
• Project Management Institute (PMI) qualifications (e.g. PMP certification) or similar formal training preferred.
