Introduction to role:Are you ready to turn regulatory complexity into digital simplicity that accelerates life-changing medicines to patients with unmet needs? This role leads the vision, strategy and delivery of digital tools that enable timely, compliant regulatory outcomes across our international markets—directly shaping the speed and quality with which our science reaches those who need it most.

You will be the accountable owner for a focused suite of products that reduce cycle time, lift right-first-time quality and enhance user experience for regulatory teams. Partnering across R&D, Operations and Commercial, you will connect real-world regulatory needs with modern technologies, including AI and GenAI, to deliver measurable impact. Can you translate user insight and compliance expectations into a clear roadmap that teams can execute at pace?

Accountabilities:

Product vision and strategy

  • Vision and strategy ownership: Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for the inRA digital tool(s), ensuring alignment with inRA and broader AstraZeneca objectives.

  • Roadmap and prioritisation: Engage stakeholders to gather insights and define a roadmap that reflects business priorities, user needs, and compliance requirements.

  • Market awareness and innovation: Stay current on regulatory and digital trends (including AI/GenAI) to inform product direction and maintain competitive, future-ready capabilities.

Product delivery and lifecycle management (accountable delivery lead)

  • End-to-end delivery accountability: Drive delivery from concept through design, build, testing, release, and hypercare, ensuring outcomes meet agreed scope, timeline, and quality standards.

  • Backlog and requirements: Create, refine, and prioritise the product backlog, defining clear user stories and acceptance criteria to guide technology teams.

  • Agile execution: Lead sprint/release planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring disciplined execution and transparent progress tracking.

  • Dependency and resource management: Identify short- and long-term resource needs, manage dependencies across teams/releases, and proactively remove delivery blockers.

  • Implementation and operational readiness: Oversee rollout planning, cutover activities, and handover to support/run teams to ensure a stable transition into operations where applicable.

Stakeholder leadership and cross-functional collaboration

  • Business–IT bridge: Translate inRA business needs into actionable delivery plans, aligning business owners, SMEs, process owners, and IT/AI teams on decisions and trade-offs.

  • Ways of working: Lead effective collaboration across geographically dispersed teams, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and decision rights.

  • Governance and communication: Provide clear status reporting and manage RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), escalating decisively when required.

User-centric adoption and change

  • User advocacy: Drive user engagement through discovery, feedback cycles, and usability testing to ensure the tool is intuitive, accessible, and fit for purpose.

  • Training and change enablement: Partner with training and change experts to define training approaches tailored to user groups, markets, and process impacts.

  • Adoption success: Support sustained adoption by monitoring usage patterns and addressing pain points through targeted enhancements and communications.

Data-driven decision making and continuous improvement

  • KPIs and value realisation: Define and track KPIs (for example, cycle-time reduction, right-first-time quality, throughput, compliance metrics, and user satisfaction) to measure impact and performance.

  • Performance insights: Conduct regular reviews with stakeholders and present data-driven recommendations for optimisation and future releases.

  • Continuous improvement: Maintain business relevance through iterative enhancements, ensuring the tool continues to deliver measurable value over time.

Essential Skills/Experience:- Degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.- Proven experience in digital product delivery in a software development environment (for example, Product Owner/Manager with delivery accountability, Digital Delivery Lead, Programme/Project Delivery Lead).- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with a track record of delivering high-quality digital products.- Understanding of regulated environments and quality expectations, including documentation, audit readiness, data integrity, security and privacy; CSV/GxP exposure where applicable is a plus.- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI/GenAI to drive tangible business value.- Product thinking with delivery discipline, with the ability to set direction, prioritise effectively and drive execution to measurable outcomes.- Clear communication skills, able to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.- Analytical, data-driven approach with strong problem-solving skills and comfort using metrics to guide decisions.- Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.- Collaborative leadership and strong influencing skills in a global, matrix organisation with dispersed stakeholders and delivery teams.- User-focused mindset with a passion for improving productivity and quality through intuitive tools.

Desirable Skills/Experience:- 5+ years of experience and proven technical competence in developing and deploying solutions in support of data and information management.- Strong knowledge of data strategy, governance and standards.

- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role in a digital product development environment; Life Sciences experience is a plus.- A broad understanding of regulatory and drug development activities and the challenges associated with critical business and compliance activities.
